There are a number of amplifiers in the TA series, but the connections are basically the same.
In your system, the amplifier serves as master control. How do you know? Look for the component that offers input selection -tuner, cassette, CD, video, phono and probably auxiliary. Every other component plugs into and is controlled by the integrated amplifier. For example, plug the tuner wires from the tuner output to the amplifier input marked "Tuner." To use the tuner, just select that input from the front panel. Same with all the other components.

On the back of that unit will a bunch of RCA jacks for left and right channels. Take the hook-up wires, usually RCA cables with colored plugs on each end, and connect the OUTPUT jacks on each separate component to the INPUT jacks on the amp. Power may also be controlled from the amp. On audio plugs, red is right and white is left. Keep the polarity constant as you connect each component. Connect the speaker wires to the speaker outputs, usually spring clips or screw terminals on the amplifier end and the same on each speaker. The DVD video cable will have three wires: Yellow, red and white. Yellow is always video. It may also have a little round video connector for S-VHS which provides a much better picture when using DVD.

How To Connect a DVD Recorder to a Television:
1.If you want to use higher quality cables, then you may want to connect the TV Source (Cable and Satellite only, not Antenna) to the DVD Recorder using Composite, S-Video or Component video and audio cables.
2.To use composite cables (also known as RCA, the yellow plug is video, the red and white plugs, audio): Plug in the composite cables to the RCA outputs on the back of your TV source and then plug in the composite cables to the RCA inputs of the DVD Recorder. Then connect the RCA outputs from the DVD Recorder to RCA inputs on the TV.
3.To use S-Video and RCA audio cables: Plug in the S-Video cable to the S-Video output of the TV source. Plug in the S-Video cable to the S-Video input on the DVD Recorder. Next, connect the RCA audio cable to the output on the TV source and the input on the DVD Recorder. Finally, connect the S-Video cable and the RCA audio cable to the output on the DVD Recorder and the input on the TV.
5. To use Component Video cables and RCA audio cables: Connect the Component Video cable and the red and white RCA audio cables to the outputs on the TV source and the inputs on the DVD Recorder. Next, connect the Component Video cable and RCA audio cable to the outputs on the DVD Recorder and the inputs on the TV.
6. Now that the TV source (either Cable, Satellite or Antenna), the DVD Recorder and the TV are all connected, you need to configure everything to make sure that TV is coming through the DVD Recorder, for recording and viewing.
7. Turn on the Cable Box or Satellite Receiver, TV and DVD Recorder.
8. If you connected everything using the RF connections then the TV should be passing through the DVD Recorder and displaying Television on the TV screen. To record in this mode, you would need to tune to either channel 3 or 4 on the TV and then use the DVD Recorder TV Tuner to change channels and record.
9. If you made connections using either Composite, S-Video or Component cables, then to view or record TV, two adjustments need to be made. First, the DVD Recorder needs to be tuned to the appropriate input, typically L1 or L3 for rear inputs and L2 for front inputs. Second, the TV also must be tuned to the proper input, on a TV usually Video 1 or Video 2.
10. If you have a Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound A/V Receiver you can connect either a Digital Optical Audio cable or Coaxial Digital Audio cable from the DVD Recorder to the receiver to listen to audio through the receiver.

Before we throw in the towel, turn it off and exercise every control a lot of times throughout its range, particularly the Tape Selectors. Sometimes oxides will develop on seldom used controls and their 'normally closed' contacts will not pass a signal.

Any analog input source should appear at MD/CD-R; DVR Outputs UNLESS you select MD/CD-R or DVR. Run RCA cables to the TV's analog audio in.

S-video only passes the VIDEO - you will need to make sure you also use the WHITE and RED connectors which are stereo L and R channels - for your audio input and for your audio output as well. Make sure you plugged your audio inputs in the right line input. Example, if you are plugging S-video in LINE 1, make sure your red and white cables are plugged in LINE 1 audio input !

You can try to change input to another open input on the receiver, does it pass the audio or video?, if it does it would appear that the JVC DVD input has failed.

usually if you change the channel doen pass channel 2 then it will come across the different inputs. otherwise is there an input button on your remote? if so then push that button until you get the input you want.

I don´t know if I´ve understood, but the best way to "pass" video signals to TV through receivers is using a stereo VCR, where you plug in any antenna. Then you connect VCR´s audio and video channels to the receiver. Turning on all equipment, select video1 source. You will hear sound through the system and watch video signal on TV. Hope this may help.

Use the provided cable for your camcorder that includes either a rca (yellow, red, white) end or s-video, component, etc... then plug those into the input of your vcr.  you will need to select the correct setting on your vcr (possibly input 2) to view the camcorder.
