Hi Are you familiar with electronics? If and/or when the red led light is flashing it means the device is in protection mode. 1: check voltage regulators 5v and 12v which are the important parts to keep the device operating. 2: if there is a short circuit on the power amp, meaning the power output of the receiver. 3: check output Transistors. Hi Remove all speakers cables or wires and check all from behind the Receiver. if there are any loose terminals or any metal object in between the terminals. though it might be a coincidence that you have a problem in the Receiver. unplug the power cable from the wall socket and remove all cables. after you remove the cables plug the power cable in the wall socket and try if you see the protection displayed , the receiver needs service. sounds like a short or parasitic load dimming the light levels. could even be a "dry" solder joint
