Need the code for my remote

You need to set up the codes or use the auto mode to hold on till the remote locks on to the device.
Please check the following codes and see if the codes correspond to the models of the TV you are using.

hook up the a/v color coded cords on the back then without a remote hit the dvd button on the front its should have you ready to play.

Might not be the answer your looking for, but I'd look into one of the harmony models from Logitech. They don't use codes and you don't need paper manuals, just the model numbers of the equipment.

You'll need to start by identifying the remote then folllowing that link to the desired page for a list of codes... Sorry, I didn't understand from your question what universal you were using.

codes for magnavox tvs: 0054, 0030, 0179, 1254, 1454

the programming procedure is as follows:
1) turn on tv
2) on the remote, press "tv"
3) press and hold set until the led blinks twice, release set
4) enter the 4 digit code, light should blink twice
5) aim remote at the tv and press power, the tv should turn off
6) if it doesnt, repeat steps 2-5 with the next code on the list

I have the same tv but no manuel.The remote has the code R-40A01 printed on it.I too am upset that there is no help on the Goodmans website for this model.
