Check the drive belt.
Maybe it is broken, detached, distended from lack of use, worn, etc.
Crowley has a video for how to do that on Vimeo here:
https://vimeo.com/25463872 ,
and other support videos here:
https://vimeo.com/user4579188 .

You can find replacement belts, if necessary, on Amazon, eBay, and specialty sites by net searching for: Crosley <YourModelNumber> Turntable Drive Belt .

It you hear the motor spin and nothing is moving, the belt could be broken.

SOURCE: BSR turntable arm slides across record

There can be a number of reasons for this.
Have you checked that the stylus tip has not broken off? this is a common cause and will require a new stylus.

SOURCE: My turntable does not work. Is there a lock ?

Try this - GENTLY move the phono arm to the RIGHT until you hear a click (of course, do this after you turn on the power via the volume dial and set the other dial to"phono"). Doing this turns on the turntable when you haven't used it in awhile. This worked for us, hope it works for you.

If it doesn't work, you can check the belt by removing the tiny clip at the center post and gently lift the turntable platform/tray to peek at the motor and belt underneath. The pulley is on the right at the 2 o'clock position, the belt should be in contact with it.

You have to listen through the Audacity software. Once you start Audacity, click on the down-arrow on the toolbar next to the microphone symbol and choose Monitor Input. You will need to do this every time you start Audacity.

I have a problem with a Sansui turntable

Linear tracking tonearms probably don't move much under manual control. It would still help if we knew the model number.

Everything works on my record player but my turntable doesnt spin

This happened to me tonight. I had the same problem, to activate the player on you need to move it to the right until you hear a click. If you don't do it it won't start. Even if all the power is on. This should fix everything!

When i turn on my technic 1200 turntable it the lights flicker and looses audio sometimes

Hi, i doubt the 2 are related as the T 1200 doesnt have a preamp, only speed control.

Maybe try checking to if there are any loose ground wires in the turntable (ONLY if you are comfortable to open)

Other than that it the sound issue might be either on the head, or on the phono outs not connecting properly.

If the speed is remaining good, then the issue is just with the LEDS themselves, maybe loose solder, if it is changng pitch as well, then dry joints in the power supply/pitch control

Hope that helps

Mid 70's sears turntable. plate will not spin.

take a soldiering iron and touch it to the metal in the center of the platter for a few seconds. this will heat up the grease on the inside and allow the platter to budge. should work fine afterwards. what happens is over time the grease hardens and locks everything up. applying some heat will loosen things up and get it running again

Turntable wont spin

If everything seems ok with the power , there is usally a small microswitch that sends power to the motor when the tone arm is moved to the start of the record.
The switch might be bad or the lever that actuates it (connected to the tone arm) might be sticking. You may have to take the bottom cover off or remove the platter to see it.
Also make sure the belt is looped over the motor shaft. If the motor runs but the belt still doesnt turn, belt might be bad.

Cant get the record to start spinning

The plater is either belt driven or idler wheel driven. You need to remove the plater and check the condition of whichever you have.
Belts would need replaced if bad, sometimes you can clean idler wheels with brake fluid and get them working again. Also if the unit is old, the grease on the plater spindle may be dried up. Clean it off and re-grease. Any light lithium grease is good or go buy some "Luberex" at radio shack.
