Try adding .01mfd disc capacitors across bridge rectifiers diodes(all the 4 diodes),If the devise is old try replacing filter capacitors.and isolate transformer secondary leads if they are very near recifier board.

Hi there,

Without the speakers is there sound coming out of the laptop?

normally you just have to plug it to the headset port, it's usually a 3.5mm hole.

Make sure that the computer is not muted so that sounds will be coming out and adjust the volume from the computer itself.

Hope this helps!

Adding remote control activated ''mute'' to TV headphone jack

Generally when the head phone jack is inserted the speakers will get disconnected automatically.

If you are going to use external amplifier you can try the AV sockets. Opening the TV you may require the special screw drivers some times.

Can my tv play sound through tv and speakers?

There should be an Output in the back of the TV. You will need to get an RCA cable which is the Yellow Red and White cables. Connect the yellow and white cable to the Output in the back of the TV and connect the other end to the Speakers.

My insignia 37 inch tv

Press menu and use the up or down arrows to find the audio section adjustments. Press the right arrow and again use the up and down arrows to find tv speakers, Press the right arrow to either turn on tv speaker or turn them off ( This is used only if you are using the output signal from you tv in to you stereo input to have surround sound.) Turn them on to listen to sound from the television speakers only. If this does not solve your problem, Press the mute button on you remote control to release the mute function. If all this does not work the telephone number for Insignia is 1-877-467-4289. Talk to them about you problem and see if your television needs some type of service to restore the sound. Hope This helps you with your problem.

Insignia PC speakers - give a weird static feedback noise

I'm going to vote for the haunted option.

Sound like you have some noise on your power lines. This can be caused from many different things. Normaly it is a motor going bad or a compressor starting up. From the AC unit or refrigerator.

See if you can correspond the noise to anything else happening in the house. Fridge starting up, AC or heat cycling on...etc.

It may be that you just have speakers and a cordless phone going bad at the same time.

It might just be Casper the friendly ghost playing tricks... ha!

My presario v2000 speakers constantly hum,it has to be on mute always.what is wrong ?

Try muting your only your microphone. The microphone could be picking up white noise and amplifying it through the speakers. Good luck!

Long pause changing channels

This is the muting feature. Many of these TV's use this to avoid showing noise and putting noise out to the speakers.

Run the auto-setup from the menu. This should allow the set to know the channel layout, and thus it may respond faster. Consult the user book for the auto-setup or auto-channel features.
