Black ink will not print

Have you tried setting the color to black cartridge only. You may be printing the black with a combination of colored inks. I occasionally have a similar problem. Sometimes I can get the black to work by taking a paper towel dampened with distilled water and holding it against the cartridge print head until I see black ink coming out. Replace the cartridge and try printing again. If this doesn't work try a new cartridge and run through your Printer Settings, making sure they are all set properly.

Black lines on print, new printer

Go to the settings on your computer hit properties and do an alignment, sometimes if you take out the ink cartridge and put it back in it will say do you want to do an alighment, then after the page prints you have to scan it, then pick which one looks the best

My HP officejet pro L7580 has stopped printing black. The cartridge has been replaced ( HP original) . Other colours are fine. Printheads are fine. Error message on display: Alignment failed - Refer to...

On this HP the print head is not part of the cartridge. How do you know the print head is fine? Did you just try to do a test page without an alignment?
I know that HP (they suck) will not help you because you are past warranty - Google your question since I am sure that you are not the only person to have experienced this issue.
I think you have a bad print head.

Printer doesn't print black

if the cartridge is not flowing...I would NOT soak it in water as that can flow back into the cartridge...remove it and use a q-tip with rubbing alcohol to clean...then you can use toilet paper to rub across it to make sure its flowing...you should get a solid black line...be sure not to touch where the electronics connect to it...if you do, clean it with the alcohol also

Hi anyone there

Clean the encoder strip with alcohol free glass cleaner and a couple of qtips. The encoder strip is the clear strip of plastic that runs behind the print head assy the width of the printer it tells the print head where it is in relation to the page. If it is dirty you will have a hard time with alignment

C6180 failed alignment test, will not print color properly

All colors need to be present to pass alignment. Usually what I see is the yellow is empty. You can blot the print cartridge on a damp paper towel to verify the inks are working and this also cleans the head.

Printer keeps showing : Press enter to align cartridges. After doing this it then prints out an alignment page and shows: Alignment failed please: Press enter Alignment failed. This goes on and on. I have...

I have found that if I put in an old aligned page the printer reads it as and the alignment is accepted. As for the cancelled message being in the window, I have had this problem too. I've ignored it and selected the copy button and it took the command. The only problem with hitting cancel is that you cannot turn off your printer. Every time you do you have to repeat the aligning and cancellation process.
