Is there any way to buy a CPU for HLR5667WAX/XAA? How to replace it?
My HLR5667WAX/XAA is 9 years old. The lamp has been replaced twice and light engine has been replaced once. Recently it show the following problem:
1. It can not be turned off by remote control or button on the TV. To turn off TV the power supply has to be pulled out.
2. It only show channel information and "no signal or week signal" but no picture and sound.
3. When the screen show above information, it only last about 10 seconds and black for about 20 second , and then show information again. When the TV is on, it keeps this way do not stop by itself unless the power supply is pulled off.
4. When TV is on, the temperature light on the TV button is in green.
Some technician say that it is the CPU problem. Do you agree?

when the color wheel stops the picture will be all over the place. and you will have lines when it starts to fail as its not going fast enough for the picture. wining sound is it wearing out.
I have a model close to yours & mine did the same thing. Its an easy fix the problem is its over heating. Unplug the tv take all the panels off the back of the tv and you will see lots of computer boards but look for one that has heat sinks and & small fan attached to it. Clean all the dust out in that area at the minimum but best to blow out all the dust on everything.
Make sure you are discharged cause if you spark any computer board it will be toast.
have a tech clean inside cabinet and replace bulb , should be under warrantee if under 5 years old just had mine done free of charge from panasonic call 1 888 843 9788 they will direct you to a dealer. hope this helps

Lamps don't really last very long typically 1 to 3 years depending. You may just need to replace the lamp. A burner gap of a lamp expands as the lamp warms up. If the gap is too large due to age (normal usage) the lamp will fail to light or shut down once the expansion occurs. The solutions to either problem is to replace the lamp.
You have two options only. One is to pay a trained Samsung tech to replace the DMD bd which takes a Tech to properly align the DMD bd and takes some time or you can replace the entire Engine which is more expensive but quicker and easier. Wish had good news for you.
possible color wheel , or just a lamp. depending on what the noise sounded like. check out some videos on you tube on how to replace color wheel. Not to hard
