SOURCE: faceplate will not open up

It is possible the there is a system error and you will have to test all capacitors with multimeter. Or Button is worn out. Take cover off, plug it in, check to see if wire is broken. You can also jump wires and try and bypass the button itself.

None of the buttons are working on my JVC KD HDR60 radio. I hit the reset button and it stays in the demo mode - it plays the cd in it but I can't change anything - not even the volume

You probably have a bad switch on the face. If you have a switch that is letting any voltage through, the microprocessor assumes that it is receiving a command. The microprocessor can handle only one command at a time and locks up.

JVC KD-R610 is stuck in Protect mode

Try disconnecting your battery, reconnecting it, and resetting your stereo. If that doesn't work, the constant power (yellow wire) or ignition wire (red wire) may have come in contact with ground or isn't properly connected. Make sure everything is connected properly and try resetting your stereo. If it is still flashing "protect", the unit needs servicing Contact JVC Customer Care Center at: 800-252-5722.

The front panel stuck

This head unit comes with a security screw that can be installed to secure the faceplate for retail display. If it was purchased as a demo model, the screw may be in place. To check, the deck has to be dismounted from the vehicle. The screw location will be in the side of the chassis, near the faceplate on the same side as the release button. Removing the screw will allow the faceplate to come off.
