SOURCE: Ativa SPL 1506X not working

I had the same "click" noise when trying to shred. I had a Staples replacement guarantee (extended warranty) so I called them up and described the issue. They are sending me a gift card for the purchase amount. Seeing as they did not want the original unit back I decided to take it apart to see if I could find the problem. I did not find an issue with the gear as the other user stated but I did notice a burn mark on the circuit board just under the relay (which could make a click noise) I removed and inspected the relay (desoldered), but I could not see anything wrong with it so I re-soldered it back onto the board and re-soldered (re-flowed) all of the other connections just in case there was a cracked joint. Upon testing the shredder still has the same "click" sound. My guess is there is a faulty device on the circuit board such as a resistor or relay. To sum it up, to repair this particular issue you will be unable to implement a "simple" fix and it would realistically require either a new circuit board or a whole new shredder.

Where can i buy parts for my id armor shredder

Your question, while it does state "parts," doesn't specify which parts. The reason why my answer isn't going to tell you, is because the "parts" can vary from the safety flap all the way to the motor that drives the shredder blades.
My suggestion is that you find where you can be eco-friendly with the shredder's disposal and purchase a new one. If you are looking for a part that has anything to do with the workings of the shredder (blades, on/off switch, paper sensor motor), you are going to wind up spending almost as much as a new one would cost and perhaps even more. Plus you have to take into consideration, the time you would spend doing the repairs; surely your time is worth at least $10 an hour. You are most likely going to spend too much time making the repair. Believe me, I tried to fix one once (it was successful, just the "bellows" that expands to change the setting of the "normally off" micro-switch back to off) and it took me a couple of hours.
Purchase a new one and forget about "saving" money by doing the repair yourself.

Why is my ID Armor ID-XC200D making a horrible noise when I shred?

kkrenn641:

That "horrible noise" is probably caused by the shredder gears meshing improperly. If you disassemble it again and look carefully at the gears, you will most likely see that some are not mating properly... Usually the motor gear and the first idler gear that meshes with the motor gear. If those two gears seem to be separated a bit, or slightly mis-aligned look carefully at where the motor mounts, and you may see that the plastic "bed" where the motor is mounted has melted from heat from the motor. This is caused by using the shredder too long without letting the motor cool down. You may be able to shim the motor housing to realign the gears, if you have the patience!

Just keeps running but blades do not turnn

The motor is connected to the shredding rollers with gears or a belt. Sounds like they are broken, unplug then take it apart and check.

For the ID Armor ID-XC200D, where should I place the shredder oil?

You don't use liquid oil. At the office supply stores they carry oil sheets that you insert just like shredding something. They come ion various pkgs. Staples and Office Depot stores carry them. They are universal, no model number needed. I hope this helps.

No power to SPL-1506X

I had the same problem-one day the shredder worked, the next day no power. We checked the fuse and it was ok. There is a safety switch that has to engage with a plastic tab on the bin. For some reason it was no longer engaging. We put a piece of cardboard into the slot and now it works fine.
