My 10 year old dishwasher suddenly stopped draining. What could be wrong?

the first thing that works is the drain pump at beginning of cycle check pump for blockage, if ok check voltage to pump , if you do not understand this answer leave well alone.

Ok, there are a couple of things it could be. The pump motor could be stuck, which is the most likely. Remove the bottom panel and look underneath. Spin the impeller until it spins freely, then try to start the dishwasher. Make sure the door is open before you do this, so that the impeller doesn't run while your hand is in it =)
Also, check the drain hose for a check valve. Sometimes these get stuck in the wrong position and it won't drain well. If none of these work, let me know and I'll help you further.

check out my guide HERE. It addresses other problems you can have with bosch drainage. Tell me what you think!

remove the kick panel below the door, place a pan, etc under where the drain hose connects to the drain extension tube, and slide the clamp back some so you can slide the hose off of the extension tube (white plastic tube) and drain any excess fluid into the aforementioned pan, etc., then unscrew the extension tube and check for plugs, or restrictions.
the sump may also be pluged beneath the strainer assembly, and that requires removing the lower spray arm, the water tube that runs up the inside back of the unit, and the upper parts of the assembly below them to access the drain/pump sump area.
last but not least the impeller is jamed and might be able to be freed by removing whatever has lodged within there..
ya never know...
best of luck,
