It sounds as though the micro-switch inside the lock mechanism is displaced.

Undo the 6 screws at the top of the door (on the inside) and remove the outer pane. This will give you access to the lock mechanism. Please switch it off first.

The micro-switch can then be adjusted so that when the handle is released, the switch engages (you should hear a very soft click).

Hope this helps.

The door handle on my Indesit W83 just broke off and I can't open the door... Any tips for getting my clothes out?? :/

same thing happened to me with my indesit w10.....so now i have touse a screwdriver to lever the door open (could always buy another handle, but hey...).

there should be a hole where the handle would lever the metal catch open...stick a screwdriver / spoon in there and lever it open...there's a technique to it but have a play around, you'll work it out... its easy enough!

Indesit d63 dishwasher, door locked shut. took top off+got to latch, the plastic catch wouldn`t pull out of the latch. undid it all, all seems unbroken but cannot seem to arrange the latch so that it will...

check with whoever you order the latch from, usually parts are individual for electrical parts and never assume that the screw or washer will come with new one, save every piece.

Indesit DG6100W problem...please help!

Hi, I have the same dishwasher and it fills from the cold supply, not the hot and it doesn't have a cold cycle as is previously suggested, as you will know kellyemb :-)

The Indesit DG6100W does a fill from the cold and heats as it washes, so if it's sticking part way through, it could be the heating element. Have you tried opening the door when it sticks and seeing if the water is hot? The heating element went on ours and it kept tripping the electric whenever the it tried to start to heat the cold water. If it is the element, they don't cost much to replace, even cheaper if you know someone who can fit it for you! Ours cost us around £12 and hubby fitted.

The only other thing I can think of is it might be the timer, like someone has suggested but how to reset it, I have no idea. I have seen on another website that a replacement timer is around £55 plus VAT, which is a little expensive.

Hope you get it fixed.

Door won't shut

Is there sufficient spring reaction? Spring weak or broken? Has latch or catch moved? Is there adjustment on either? Is there debris stopping mechanism from working? Has door dropped?

Indesit dishwasher

I had the same problem, so I took the door apart as explaned above, found it was gunged up with residue from the washihg cycles. Gave it a good clean, while the part was disconected of course, and hay presto! the door works like new again.

Broken door handle Indesit dishwasher DG 6100

I agree read "broken door catch" solution and be particularly careful in respect of the edges of the stailess steel panels - some of the edges are hidden and they are very sharp.
