I have ordered a new Merloni door catch plate as the original has snapped and wondered if someone could tell me how to replace it please. The cost of fitting a £4.00 door catch plate is ridiculous! Hoping some one out there will be able to help me and explain in detail. Many thanks. Callie
Undo the screws at the top of the front door and puul the control unit out this gives you acsess to the door catch which is quite simple to replace be careful the stainless steel is quite sharpe

its prob your inner door catch or door striking plate the inner door catch has a bymetal strip inside that looks the door they wear out but if the striking plate is worn on the door it will also stop the inner catch to lock it is better to replaice both at the same time they are not to expensive to buy and easy to fit just turn off the power to machine unplug take the top off and you can get your hand dowm the front where the inner lock is undue the two screws which holds the inner door catch lift out and unplug the lock plug in new one and put back you will see how to replaice the outer door catch best to take the door off and lay flat
this happens when unit goes off balance and tub bangs door..open door.. you will see to screws holding the door locking device remove,,now take a screw driver and remove the front wire spring clip..replace latch and door probe,,reverse to put back together
I had the same problem, so I took the door apart as explaned above, found it was gunged up with residue from the washihg cycles. Gave it a good clean, while the part was disconected of course, and hay presto! the door works like new again.
have no access to manual. but you could... try to recycle the power. shut off breaker or unplug for a minute or two. then turn back on. it may reset. good luck mark
I agree read "broken door catch" solution and be particularly careful in respect of the edges of the stailess steel panels - some of the edges are hidden and they are very sharp.
