Don't know why but my indesit slimline dishwasher door won't shut , fills like it isn't catching onto the latch even though the latch looks ok. There are defiantly not any obstructions had a good clean around seal .......
Help really annoying !!!!!
The latch when removed from door and tried works ok, when reattached to door the problem is still there. there is no movement made it is very firmly in place with no debris and door doesn't appear to have dropped any other suggestions would be gratefully received..... is this a common problem? The latch when removed from door and tried works ok, when reattached to door the problem is still there. there is no movement made it is very firmly in place with no debris and door doesn't appear to have dropped any other suggestions would be gratefully received..... is this a common problem?

Is there sufficient spring reaction? Spring weak or broken? Has latch or catch moved? Is there adjustment on either? Is there debris stopping mechanism from working? Has door dropped?

IF DOOR WONT OPEN FROM INSIDE THEN IF YOU LIVE UP NORTH RUST IS PROBLEM.....TAKE A FUNNEL POUR BRAKE FLUID WHERE THE LATCH IS....WAIT 1-2 DAYS AND DOOR WILL OPEN.....SHORT TERM FIX
check with whoever you order the latch from, usually parts are individual for electrical parts and never assume that the screw or washer will come with new one, save every piece.
There is a door interlock within the door assembly. I believe it's mechanically stuck rather than needing replacing.
Turn off & unplug. You should be able to get to the internals of the door via screws around the edge. The interlock will be very close to the handle catch. Check operation by inserting a dummy catch to lock onto it.
I agree read "broken door catch" solution and be particularly careful in respect of the edges of the stailess steel panels - some of the edges are hidden and they are very sharp.
