Hi, try putting in a new oil pressure switch. If the light continues to come on, you will need a new oil pump. The oil pressure switch cuts off the fuel pump when the oil pressure is low. Please let me know if you have more questions.

I just put in this new thermostat, I believe all the wiring to be correct i have one extra wire (brown) that should be a common wire used to keep the display lit. when I turn the unit on cool ( with the...

Heat pumps require specific heat pump thermostat. If you are trying to install a thermostat that is generic forget it. A heat pump is a diff animal than a central unit. Get the thermostat that matches your system. A generic won't cut it.

My Trane thermostat (TCONT600AF11MAA) is supposed to have 1.5 degrees of heat pump "rest" above the desired setting before turning on the heat pump. The thermometer reading does not change yet...

Friend! All thermostat is calibrated to cut in and cut off at the end of - or + 1 degree end.
Example: If you set 23 degree, it will cut off in 21 degree and cut in @25 degree. So accordingly you set the temp.
Secondly, don't set temp near to your room temp.Minimum difference should be 3 degree. If your room temp 12 degree, set at least 15 degree for heat and if room temp 28, set at least 25 degree for cool.
Hope it's helpful?

7.3 rough idle

Gas or diesel having same problem, I'd start there to confirm fuel pressure . It may be pump running partially when cool, but when it heats up (the pump) it may be cutting out pressure wise. Not uncommon for a fuel pump to pump good when cold, then die once pump heats up from running. Still makes noise, but isn't supplying any or enough pressure.

I have a 2 ton Goodman heat pump. when it gets to the temp. it is set on it will not cut off. I can cut the thermostat back 2 degrees and it will cut off until it gets cold enough to come back on and then...

Heat pump have coeficient of performance. They are rated at about 60 degrees. So at 60 degrees you get 24,000 but the colder it gets the lower the rate 40 degrees18,000 and so on. Now on your Goodman depending how cold it is outside a heat pump reaches a balance where it runs all the time. That is if your heat pump is charged correctly. Your problem might be that it is a little low on Freon. Also your back up or auxillary heat to comes on to help keep up. On some tstats that is about 2 degrees behind the set temp. On digital tstats if the heat pump can not keep up it is about two minutes behind. I hope I have not confused you but it is better for the heat pump to run and pull 9 amps than the electric abck up to come on pull 9 plus 20 to 30 for the heat. Answer just have your charge checked ask for Service check special I have them with my company and it cost about 50.00 to check and clean systen Freon exrtra. Check your aair temp between the inlet and the closest outley should be at least 20 to 25 degree rise in temp. FEEDBACK WELOME Rus

Ruud Heat Pump blows room temp on Heat and AC setting

A "Heat-Pump" is also known as a reverse cycle air conditioner, this means on heat the outdoor unit acts like the indoor section and vice versa. So in all probability you need to have it leak checked and recharged.

Coolant temp is normal while idling, cools off when fans cut in

i would check to see if the stat is working right, do you have rear heat on this vech? . if you do you may have a air pocket, the windstars have a metal tube coning from the water pump that gose to the heater core lines for the rear heat and they like to fail. they get a pin hole leak that hard to find, the water pump also likes to fail also, not moving a enough fluid under load the ends of the inmpler wear down

Ruud heat pump high pressure cut off problem

That's going to be in your installer configuration. Check and make sure the G terminal has a wire connected to it at the tstat , and that connection it tight. In the configuration menu, make sure it is set for a heat pump, elected heat. It seems to me that the tstat doesn't know its connected to a heat pump. Should be able to locate aodel # for tstat on the back of it. And ask Mr. Google for a manual, if you don't have 1. Hope this helps!
