Sometimes I get a rainbow on the bottom of the screen.

Sometimes I get a green and red rainbow at the bottom of the screen that rainbows the bottom of the picture and it blurrs everything else. But if I shut the tv off for a little while and turn it back on its gone. This just started and I'm not sure what to check or fix?

Your TV most likely has a convergence failure. ( common problem )

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
Here are some photos of convergence problems.

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses. Its a fairly easy DIY job or you can call in a pro. If you want to do the repair yourself check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, thermal paste, email/phone support, etc.

Check its degaussin posistor. Replace it. This component can be located at the main power regulator section.

Power cord leaks green oil

I suggest that you replace that corroding internally power cord. It may not be safe to use that power cord.

You can get your model information, at the bottom of your vacuum canister, from underneeth, where the water pan attaches to it.

It is probably a D3, or a D4

Rainbow of colors on screen

I just had a rainbow of colors on my tv screen...i thought it was a problem with my TV...however the screen went the "sign off" screen (verticle lines-red/blue/green) Then all of a sudden the picture came back and all was back to normal again.

So I say it's nto your TV it is a station problem!

The screen has a rainbow of red blue and green on bottom

The specs say this is a CRT type projection system, so it could be related to the display or to the TV. Since this has an SD card, it might be good to plug in the memory card with some pictures on it, and see if the problem persists with a source other than the tuner. That might at least narrow down whether you have a display failure/adjustment issue or something else.

I have a 3 year old mitsubishi wd-52526 lcd projector tv that is starting to have some focus/image alignment issues - in general picture is a little out of focus and there are rainbows around things at the...

the differnt guns are out of alignment. Your tv has 3 lcd screens, a red, green and blue one what overlay to form the image. Sometimes they move slightly for what ever reason and that causes the rainbow and out of focus picture. Its something that a trained pro should do but is a cheap fix and won't set you back too much

Blue line trouble

Hi Kracka,

Are you able to post a picture of the problem?

It sounds from your description that it might be a 'convergence' problem which is when the red, green and blue parts of the image aren't alligned properly.

Check in your menu to see if there is a convergence setting.

Hope this helps
