Ram error

If it is a RAM error then you will have to replace the RAM. You can check it out by pulling it out one at a time, rebooting to see which RAM set is bad. Replace that one. I really would replace all of it though.

Display shows RAM ERROR on Xerox Phaser 8860

I would first try to inspect and possibly replace the ram. On the back of the machine there are two thumb screws holding on a metal plate. Remove the two screws to access the ram. You can remove the ram and try the second ram slot if it is unused. (check the video at 2:45 to see what this looks like) If after replacing the ram and trying both ram slots the error continues you most likely need to replace the Electronics module (MFP part# 084K36560, non-mfp part# 084K36550). Here is a video that shows you how to replace that part. (video is of a 8500 non-mfp version so it is a little different but still similar). Good luck, and thanks for using FixYa!

Hello, I have a Xerox 4510 DT that shows the error: RAM ERROR. I have had the users shut down the machine, wait a minute and then restart but the error still shows. What else can I have the user do?

You can try inspecting and moving the ram to the other RAM slot. The 4510 image processor board has 2 ram slots, so one of them should still be unused. To access the ram you must remove the right side cover. Its possible changing the slot the ram is in will fix this, if it does not the next step would be to replace the ram. Part# 133K27760 for 128MB. Finally, if after replacing the RAM the error continues you would need to replace the image processing board. (part# 960K41806). Hope this helps

My compaq presario V2000 has frozen after I loaded an antivirus

Freezing is usually a symptom of failing ram. Your motherboard could also be the culprit. It is tough to effectively diagnose because memory and systemboards work so closely together. Cheapest thing to try is replace the ram, and since you are buying ram, go ahead and buy a larger amount. Install 1gig instead of 512 meg. (make sure your pc can use the memory upgrade). Replacing the ram with new ram will let you know that the memory is new, and if the issue persists, you know it is not the ram. If the issue persists after replacing the ram, that means you should replace your system board.

How replace memory of philips freeline pc

Hi,
There are two types of memory. RAM and ROM. ROM is permanent. It uses to load the operating system from HDD. It cannot be replaced. The other one is RAM , this temporary memory which speeds up tour pc. This can be replaced.
Every motherboard has got 2 RAM slots. In RAM also there are 2 types. DDR1 and DDR2. So, know your RAM type that supports your motherboard and insert it properly. every RAM contains a notch in middle and that notch should perfectly fix the RAM slot in the motherboard. Thank you
