There can be many reasons why your dryer will not start or turn...

The most common causes are the belt breaking or jumping off, or the motor goingbad...

Push on the door switch and make sure the light goes out. When the light goes out, a contact should be made to allow the motor to run. If you can get to the timer, spray a good electronic contact cleaner inside while rotating the dial. While you have the unit open, vacuum out all the lint, and check for loose wires, especially to the door switch.

It sounds like it may be the lid switch. It may be as simple as adjusting or tightening. But ultimately it may need replacement.. Hope this helps

You dont need to check motor first. start from door switch. check the continuity of the switch if not making a peep sound when you press the button replace the switch button.

Your dryers timer contacts have fused to gether.
The only repair is to replace the timer.

Current is good, brand new power cord, drum light comes on --
When I turn the timer, I can hear it clicking, but nothing else works.

check the humidity sensor this will prevent the motor from starting

zedlast Did you check the door switch? If the door switch is fine, reset the circuit breaker. If it does not help then check the power cord connection to the dryer. One of two hot wires could be loose or burned out. If nothing of the above helped, let me know. Gendos...post back
