When we print several jobs or try to copy & especially scan jobs we will get a scanner error. We have uninstalled & reinstalled the software. The printer & everything still works just annoying to have to turn it off all the time.
We have the Toshiba 523. It completely does not work in copying, although it works in first time after turning on.
Unfortunately there is not any maintenance company and related services in here. It should be mentioned that the printer and scanner of the devise works properly.Thank you for your time and consideration.

Is there any error message displayed on the control panel of the printer just like one of the following:
Scanner failure, power off and on Scanner System Failure Scanner failed, cannot make copies or fax Scanner failure. Unable to scan, copy, or send a fax Scanner failure, cycle power
You may want to try following these steps: 1. Check if the scanner light does turn on when you initiated the scanning process, if not you need to reset the product. 2. Try using your other electrical outlet because your AVR or Surge Extension may not be providing enough voltage for the printer. 3. Try using dirty cycle, meaning you need to directly cut the power of your printer by pulling of the power cord from the rear side of your printer and wait for about 30 seconds before inserting again and turn it on.
If all these steps do not improve your printer functionality, you may want to call the HP online help and ask for replacement.
This sounds like a Scanner/Flatbed Problem.This series of printers have a known problem
with this component. The scanner is failing to initialize itself. The scanner
does need to be changed by an Authorized HP Warranty Repair Facility. It is
possible that it may be covered under an HP Extended Warranty program. See

i got a same prob..i can't print,scan and copy and the refill warning always appeared..i hv refill the cartridge and i shut it down and try again and again..it's the cartridge prob or the printer prob..?
I need a some more information from you. What is the exact error message your getting? In the mean time try this and report back.
Try this first, shut your system all the way down (computer) then once the computer is shut down, turn your printer off and then boot your computer system back on, disable all running programs and then turn on your printer and report back what has happened, try your functions and see if the all in one works or if you get an exact error message. Sometimes it can be a driver conflict or a bad bulb, I am not sure until I can get back some more information from you.
What is the error message? SCANNER ERROR? If that is what you getting, turn printer off then open scanner cover- on the left hand side there is a toggle log for scanner, position it to unlock then turn printer on then try scanning/copying again.
if your having a different error message pls indicate the exact error that you are getting.
