Charging problem Basically my phone won't charge. When i plug in the charger all i get is some irritating orange flashing light on the back, but the phone doesn't charge when this happens. My phone went flat when i was talking on the phone and so i thought this was fine because i'd charge it after. so i put in my wall charger and it wouldn't charge. i thought it was the charger that was the problem so i went and bought a new one but it still wouldn't charge. so i tried the usb cable and it turned on for a sec then switched back off. now when i plug it in to the computer only the stupid orange camera light turns on. HELP!

Had same problem with blinking lights and not charging.
Plug charger base in (blinking lights), remove controllers, and plug USB cable into front charge slot (behind hinged panel). This reset charger base and lights stopped blinking. As FYI - the USB was connected to other device (charging it). Add the controllers and correct charging lights show up - including the controller 1 and 2 symbols. Controllers now charging.
Have you attempted taking the battery out and while the battery is out holding down the power button for a few seconds? If this doesn't work, First test your charger to ensure proper charging. Clean charging ports. Remove battery and clean brass contacts with alcohol and q-tip
try cleaning the battery(copper bits) try charging it on your lap top, it should flash red green orange, keep unplugging and plug back in again its worked for us
What is the orange charging light doing? If it is just flashing on, or only staying on or a minuet, that means you need a new battery. The orange light foes on when the battery has been charged to its maximum capacity. After each charge, the capacity is decreased. So if the orange light is on for only a short time, get a new battery.
The phone is not connected to the active telephone line. ie: somewhere in the settings you can choose the phone # or 000-0000 as the active line. You're phone may be seleted to the 000-0000 as the active line. I de-activated my phone number on my Razr before I sold it so no one could use my #. This made the phone not charge and got extremely hot. When I set it back, all was fine.
I had this same problem, it's really irritating. Not exactly a full solution, but if you leave your phone connected to the usb for around 10 - 15 mins then disconnect it, remove and replace the battery and turn it on, it should have enough power to boot up, the just reinsert the usb and it should charge.
Your battery has died, of a fail safe has kicked in. The orange light indicates that the battery isn't charging properly, and needs replaced. Replace the battery and it will be fine. Keep in mind that batteries are just batteries, they eventually wear out, and some faster than others. Also, the more you use the battery, the faster it will wear out, so I always recommend keeping the machine plugged in when possible.
