Ds is plugged into charger. But when i try to turn it on it just flashes off. help
What is the orange charging light doing? If it is just flashing on, or only staying on or a minuet, that means you need a new battery. The orange light foes on when the battery has been charged to its maximum capacity. After each charge, the capacity is decreased. So if the orange light is on for only a short time, get a new battery.

Gently wiggle the charger from side to side, not too much incase you break the pins. it may be a little stiff to start with. Apply a fair amount of force and have lots of patience : )
Hope this helps,

Try this if you haven't yet.Take the battery out, read the voltage with a meter,If low your charger is not working. Also if no meter try reinstall batery.Good Luck. DS's are unpredictable, you could not touch it for another month and it will work.

SOURCE: DS Charging Diffuculties
( times out of 10 here its the battery if by replacing the battery it still does not charge you got a bad charging unit inside the DS and your repair bill will be under $75 bucks to replace the chargin element inside.

SOURCE: DS Lite turns on for a brief second. Then turns
This could be two things first try a new battery. You can get on ebay for $2 dollars. If that doesn't fix the problem then it should be a fuse. To get to the fuses you will need to take it apart. If you have a warranty don't send it back. There are a lot of ds lite repair videos on utube. To help you find the fuses.

SOURCE: nintendo ds won't turn on.when charger plugged in
Your problem isn't with the screen it is with the fuses.
your fuse or fuses are dead. however, it is fixable, but it is extremely difficult.
1. if you don't have the time or the means or the wants to solder it, then sell it on ebay and you can get a fairly good price and someone else will fix it
2. if you do want to go through with this then you will need a meter, a soldering iron, and a lot of time and patience.
