The set should be transported upright but that rarely causes these issues-----suspect either main signal board or also possible is the power supply (for voltages changing when set is on).

The first common problem is convergence


These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D

I have the same situation. Called my repairman, who knew exactly that it needed a "570 kit" . It will be repaired this week. Cost $360

It sounds like your TV's convergence circuit has failed. This is not an easy repair for a novice, so I would recommend that you call an Authorized Service Center and have them give you an estimate.

thats usually a convergence IC failure, Are you able to move the red and blue colors in the convergence adjustment menu?

Sounds like some kinda convergence problem. Can you post an image please?

tv worked great, turned it off one day and back on the next and the on light would not come on nor would the tv work, rear projection 52 inch rca

that sounds like your LCD controller, since the LCD screen is so big, they will "split" the screen into 2 smaller screens, otherwise it would be so outrageously expensive to have one big massive lcd controller. Your lcd controller is most likely a two-in-one card though, meaning that there are 2 controllers on one board. You'll more than likely need a new controller card for your tv.

Im sorry i dont quit understand the complaint.. Can you post a picture of this problem I have workeed alot on maggys.
