Red light comes on but nothing else, No other response with remote or controls on TV. Have had no previous problems at all.
It sounds to be a main board fault. Before confirmation, contact any service technician.

there a problem on power side.. chage the ic and the resistor going to ic and check also the signal diode.

we had the same problem and took it to be repaired and they said it was just a,loose connection

When the TV is on, need to check the back light is on(go back side & look into through)
If the back light is on -- need to exchange the Main Board
no back light -- exchange the Power Board --- 95%
exchange the LCD panel --- 5%(inverter)

what the full model number of your tv?
the clicking sound is the result of a faulty power supply, some capacitors(blown heads) on the power supply for the output voltage rail of the mains board need to be replaced.
