My ps3 freezes at random times, sometimes it will freeze when im playing a game or just browsing around in my demos,pictures,videos,settings etc. But that only happens if I can even get the operating system to load. Most often when I turn on my ps3, it's just a black screen and i've tried everything on the reboot menu and the only thing that works is system restore, but it ends up freezing again and all I can do is turn it off. Then when I turn it back on itll be a black screen. Suggestions?

The same thing hapeend to me with Infamous and Killzone 2. It wouldnt happen with MGS4. I replaced the optical lense and the harddrive on the ps3 and it did nothing. I even had a strong fan blowing air into it. Nothing worked. I took an L and sent it to Sony. But thankfully i got the money from gambling craps in Vegas so im not upset about it.

you have dust build up brother. take a can of dust off and while the system is running pulse some air throught the front vents. you should see gobs of brown dust flying out the back....you system is freezing because its overheating(is that an oxymoron?) good luck!
