I would like to know specifics of, as close as possible, how much finalizing time is needed for the amount of time recorded. Is there a formula to use to calculate that?I got an Error 22 while Finalizing on a Magnavox ZV427MG9 A. I had 13 minutes left on a 2 hour DVD and got the error 22.

SOURCE: Is a Magnavox MWR10D6 DVD Recorder codec or driver needed to play DVD disks on computer?

There are work arounds... but the reason is when its burnt and finialized its written in .vob format which is dvd mpeg2 format. majority of windows media player codecs wont pick it up. divx does. its just the format its burnt in and you cant change obviously. you can just try like nero showtime which always works or ending up ripping the disc on the computier but that might defeat your purpost of burning them in the first place. Its not the dvd recorder i may add, its just the format. by the way its a magnavox unit made by funai... www.funai-corp.com/support and trust me your not going to get much out of their. your better off going into forums finding more high depth problems if you really want this to work for firends and families and such.

SOURCE: finalizing a dvd

Try this. In your SETUP options, ensure that AUTO FINALIZE and FINALIZE AT END OF TIMER are turned OFF.

Insert DVD. Press SETUP button. Be patient. Once DVD has loaded the DISK FINALIZE option will be available. You can then FINALIZE.

I found it much cheaper to get DVD-R from Radio Shack (about $5 for 25) for VHS movies that I know I want to keep. They do record up to 6 hours, even though the packaging is unclear on this point.

SOURCE: Magnavox DVD recorder...finalizing problem

The manual isn't too helpful either - "Recording error other than below," it says. There are a couple of possibilities. The Philips/Magnavox/Funai recorders automatically record in VR mode when you use +R discs (there are two possible recording modes - V Mode and VR Mode). Is it possible that you have switched disc types lately? If you are currently using -R discs, switch to +R and vice versa. The manual states that +/-RW discs take a while to initialize.

I couldn't find a full factory reset on that one, so you may have to unplug the unit for about 20 minutes to restore all the defaults.

Another possibility: Finalization requires some extra space on the disc. If you accidentally pressed the button that changes the recording format between SP, EP, LP, etc., you may not be able to fit the same amount of video on the disc that you were able to fit before. You can change the format by pressing the Disc Mode button on the remote - LP Mode will fit 3 hours worth of recordings onto a 2-hr disc and is considered a "medium quality" recording. Try changing the Disc Mode to LP and see if it will finalize the next disc that you record. The downside of this possibility is that the discs that you have already made that are giving you errors are not "fixable" - you will will have to re-record the shows to a new disc in LP mode.

Good luck!

What is the method of calculating interest rate for fixed deposit?

Fixed deposit calculations can be done by both manual and automatic methods. Now let us figure out the fd calculation in both ways:
1.) Manual Calculation Technique: It is the conventional process to know your Fixed deposit interest calculation. The formula for manual fd calculation is used as below:

Where,A = Final Amount
P = Principal Amount (initial investment)
r = Annual Nominal Interest Rate (as a decimal, not in percentage)
n = Number of times the interest is compounded per year
t = Number of years

2.) Online Calculator Technique: Nowadays online FD calculator is very amazing technique and it is a very useful online tool that helps you to easily calculate your Fixed deposit return. Online FD calculators uses simple technique in which you need to put your amount, tenure, interest rate and can get accurate results instantly. You can easily calculate and compare the interest receivable by changing the deposit amount.

What volume of a 2.50m solution of hydrochrolic acid is required to prepare 2.0 litres of a 0.30m solution?

I need to be sure what you meant by the m symbol: M or m. The first is used for molarity and the latter for molality. If it is molality we do need to know the masses per unit volume for the solutions (the so-called densities)

However if you meant 2.5 M and 0.3 M, then the problem is readily solved. I 'll take a step by step method.
2.50 M means that the original solution contains 2.5 mol of solute per 1 L of solution. Let x be the volume of the solution.
The amount of solute ( expressed as a number of moles) isAmount of solute in original solution (in mol)=2.5 (mol/L)*x (L)
Now consider the final solution.
The amount of solute in the final solution is given by:Amount of solute (in mol) =0.3 mol/L*2 L=0.6 mol
However, this last value is exactly the amount of solute the original solution, because you are just putting it in a bigger volume (dilution)
Equating the two amounts of solute we get
2.5 x=0.6 (in mol) and
x=0.6/2,5=0.24 L=240 mL
When concentrations are given in molar units, the foregoing reasoning can be summarized as
initial concentration (c_i) * initial volume (V_i)=final concentration (c_f)*final volume (V_f) or more simply
c_i*V_i=c_f*V_f
Using the formula to find the initial volume
V_i=(c_f*V_f)/c_i=(0.3 *2)/2.5=0.24
The starting volume is 0.24 L or 240 mL

About 5 years ago I transfered some vhs tapes to dvd using a go video vr 3840. I did not finalize the dvd's. I need to buy another vr 3840 to finalize the dvd's. Where can I find one to buy?

You should not need another '3840 to finalize the disks. Finalization just ends the index, makes writing back to the disk near impossible. You should be able to finalize / close the disk using a dvd authoring program (Nero, CD BurnerXP, etc).

The catch may be that the disks that you created are formatted as DVD video, closing a video disk may not be the same.

Another possibility is to use an authoring program (like the above) to copy your un-finalized disks to fresh media, and specify the disks to be finalized (or closed) when completed. I would try this first, the only thing to lose is time, and a disk. Oh, and about 4.7GB of hard disk space to create the image if you only have 1 DVD drive.

Problem with Finalizing Disc

When you insert the disc what does the recorder display after it examines it (Reading TOC)? - CDR, TOC, CDR-W, NO TOC?

It should know the disc is not finalized and let you either record more on it or finalize it.

If not, and you need to recover the 4 tracks try loading the disc on a DVD player. My old Pioneer will read unfinalized CDR-A's so I can digitally copy what's on them back to another CDR-A.

I am trying to figure out a payroll formula. I

Here is how you could do the formula with two one column having the hours of each day in it and the overtime being in another cell:

Example:

Column A Column B
8

2
8
8
0
Total 40 OverTime 2

Formula in this cell where 40 is at:
=IF(SUM(A1:A7)>40,40,SUM(A1:A7))

Formula in cell where 2 is at:
=IF(A8>40,0,SUM(A1:A7)-A8)

Let me know if this helps.

Finalizing the disk

Finalizing a disc is a software issue. When you start to burn a disc there's a check box that will say something like "Finalize Disc" or "Allow no further recording to this disc". Depends on the software. Personally, I use Nero.

Hope that helps...

Check to see if you are using 16x media.  If you are you need to get a firmware upgrade from Toshiba.  Contact their support number listed inside of the manual.  They will ship you a dvd to insert into the unit.
