Here is how you could do the formula with two one column having the hours of each day in it and the overtime being in another cell:

Example:

Formula in this cell where 40 is at:
=IF(SUM(A1:A7)>40,40,SUM(A1:A7))

Formula in cell where 2 is at:
=IF(A8>40,0,SUM(A1:A7)-A8)

You're covering a lot of ground there, but you should be able to use sorting and group selection, then cut and paste from your other programs, as well as keyboard shortcuts to save some time. There may even be some addins that will help you to organize the reports...but nothing can save you from data entry. There's definitely a steep learning curve involved...
It may be helpful for you to organize the logic and Hierarchy of the spreadsheet by hand on paper before you attempt to set it up on your system.

Try to Restore Microsoft Excel to Its Default Spreadsheet ,
Open Microsoft Excel.
Navigate to the Help menu and open the "Detect and Repair" function. The Detect and Repair dialog will appear. If you want to restore your shortcuts at this time, check the appropriate icon

Yes - it is possible to modify the content of a cell without deleting everything.
Place your curser in the cell without writing or doing anything.
You will now be able to se the content of the cell in the upper row - same place where you give in formular etc.. Here you can edit the content of the cell - a part of the text or formular without loosing everything.

You must purchase this program legally to obtain a key code. I would suggest WalMart.

open the excel 2007 file in excel 2007 only and save as file.xls[xls is a 2003 version]

with this method u can open it though excel 2003

You have to purchase the product to get a key that works. The keys you are finding were probabally good keys at one time but without proof of purchase you can only install or activate a certain number of computers with each key.

it's possible that the folder where the file is located may have a very similar name or path to the one where you're trying to open the file from, inside excel. double check not only the file name but the entire file location
for instance
if you have
c:/mydocuments/myfiles/myexcelfiles/file.xls
would be different from
c:/mydocuments/myfiles/myexcelfiless/file.xls

the look very similar but the folder where one file resides is myexcelfiless and the other folder with the same name resides in myexcelfiles, the difference is only one letter.. so please double take your time double checking!

you have the memory on check the setup on the auto fill

Try in "My Recent Documents"
If not save the cuurent files on a USB and do a system restore to a previous time!

Your problem is not so much the formula but the cells that contain the hours for each call. Since they contain the text “hrs” (for example “2.25hrs”) this turns the whole cell to text, not numeric, which will always add up to zero in Excel. So do two things:
- Change the cells in column H (Time Spent) to numeric (2.25 instead of 2.25hrs) – you might want to change the column header to Time Spent In Hrs just to b clear
- Use this formula =SUMIF(E8:E26, 1, H8:H26)
For the formula change the middle number to correspond to the operator ID – for example for operator 2 change the formula to =SUMIF(E8:E26, 2, H8:H26)

This should do it.
