Many commercial DVDs are equipped with Region Code technology to protect its copyright, with the result that DVDs can only be played on DVD players with the same region code. For example, DVD bought in Japan could not be played in the US since they belong to different region codes.
I suggest get region free player on your pc for free so that you can play region-locked DVD discs. You could try Leawo Blu-ray Player which is a region free, Blu-ray player.
Anyone has a working solution? I have the same model and I have heaps of DVDs from Europe that do not play...

hi, I suggest unlocking using the remote handset. I unlocked my LG dvd player using this method, you can find the instructions depending on your dvd player model. I didnt find the exact model but i tried with a very similar one and it worked. I dont know if it will work for you, but you can try, hope it does. http://www.dvdcodes.net

Not sure how much that helps but thats the best I can find - that should at least get you to the correct area where you should be able to fiddle around with region codes etc
