My LG blue ray player is locked in region one. I used an unlock code but thought I had to insert the disc and change the region every time I wanted to watch a dvd from a different region. It has been changed three times. It is now locked in region one. It will not read the dvd unlock disc. Can I reset the player to its original settings - region 4? The player is part of a LG HB954WA home theatre system. I only listed below because I could not find my actual system in the list.

You cannot change the region on the player. If you want to play a region 1 disc, you'll have to use a computer and hook it up to your TV (you can change the region on optical drives a limited amount of times on computers), or acquire a region 1 player.

If you're savvy enough, you could rip (using a computer) the disk into a compressed format the LG system can read (MKV, MP4, etc.) and play it off a USB stick.

With your set on and without disc in the tray:

1. Press PLAY from your remote control
2. Press the following button sequence: 1590 2379 390
3. Press PLAY again

This will release the region verification in your player(region free). However, some DVDs (multi region in particular) will not play, since they require region detection from the player unit.

DVD REGION FREE & BLUE-RAY REGION FREE
To change the Region code on your DVD player, open Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device manager, and click on DVD/CD ROM drives, then right click on the DVD drive and click Properties then click on DVD Region.
You can enter a new region and it also shows you how many changes have been made.
NOTE you can make only 4 changes and the player will lock permanently on the 4th change.
If you want to play DVDs from any region you maybe able to upgrade the firmware to make it region free BUT if you make a mistake or installed the wrong firmware the player will be a piece of junk.
The best solution to make the player region free is to install a piece of software (Passkey for DVD) that allows you to play DVDs from any region and Passkey for Blu-ray that allows you to play Blu-rays from any region. There are several available on the Internet but my favourite is DVD-Region Free From: -

this a matter difficult. . The information is inside from Eprom, and you will have to erase , this can be NOT make funcionality the DVD. Is not o.k to do this. I am sorry.
