The back display is completely white when activated. How do I fix or how much is going to cost to be fixed? This camera has only been used a few months and put into a closet. What a rip off!

Camera is defect for sure, but don't tell anyone in the service centre, because they warn you not to take a camera out in extreme cold. You should not se the camera in environments below zero degrees
I'm afraid you can't fix it yourself, and before bringing it to a Canon Certified repair centre, ask them what it could cost.
This is a very common problem with Sony Cyber-shot, as I have such one since
2007 that takes photos pretty good, but got white screen problem after using 1
year or so. I checked some website, and found the solution of knocking the
front panel, or shaking. I continued to use it in this way, often shaking or
knocking. Recently, it completely turned to white, no matter how much
knocking/shaking/pressing. However, I eventually fixed it in the following way:
Opened
the camera: only three tiny screws there, and then opened the front and
back panels using a flat screw driver gently (no other screws);
I
guess the problem is the display, since it still does photos, just not
displayed. I checked that there were two metal pieces that were attacking
the board. Adjusting them to have better contact did not fix the problem.
Then I took off the small cable to the screen, and noticed that this is
just the power supply. Finally, I noticed that there was a large cable
connecting to the screen. After disconnecting this cable (which goes
underneath the memory stick box) and connecting back, plus working on several
more cables I could see in this way, surprisingly it got fixed! It went to
the initialized settings.
I’m not sure what step exactly fixed this problem, but I can
tell that this is just a bad contact somewhere, and no special part is needed.
the image is all white or has lines through it.Definitely sounds like a repair issue, and has been a previous problem with the camera in the past. There is a defect in the sensor of the camera, and happens quite frequently in this model. I would try and contact Canon about it, and see if they'll repair it for free. If not, its probably going to cost more than the camera is worth to repair it.
Its problem of ccd imager in your DSC-T1 camera and that part will be replaced. Sony announced free of cost repair for subject problem. Click Sony CCD Support for details.
Try using Lithium batteries. A lot of other batteries don't have enough voltage. Those batteries seem to fix a lot those electrical problems in some cameras. If that doesn't work then more than likely you have a short in side the camera. which could be caused from anything from a grain of sand to moisture from humidity. If that is the case them it more than likely will not be cost effective to fix. It would probably cost around 150 to get fixed.
