I just bought my shredder 3 weeks ago and apparently a paper jam caused my shredder to stop working, when I dislodged the jam, my autoshredder will not start. I think the auto switch is not being triggered. my shredder is the Aurora AS800CD

Did you open up the shredder or remove it from the basket? Look and see if the switch is in the right place and is not being blocked.

If you didn't mess with the switch and just cleared the jam, then take it back to where you bought it for a replacement

Why does my ld100 shredder stop in middle of sheet

There could be several reasons why your LD100 shredder stops in the middle of shredding a sheet. Some possible causes include:
  • Overheating: The motor of the shredder may be overheating, causing it to shut off as a safety measure. Allow the shredder to cool down before trying again.
  • Paper jam: A paper jam may be causing the shredder to stop. Remove the jam and clear any debris from the shredder before trying again.
  • Overloading: The shredder may be overloaded with too many sheets at once. Feed the sheets in one at a time to avoid overloading the shredder.
  • Blocked cutting blades: The cutting blades may be blocked with debris, causing the shredder to stop. Clean the blades with a brush or compressed air and try again.
  • Faulty motor: The motor may be faulty and need to be repaired or replaced.
  • Power supply: Make sure the shredder is plugged in and that the outlet is providing power.
It's worth trying these solutions one by one and check if the shredder starts to work properly. If the problem persists, it would be best to contact the manufacturer's technical support for further assistance. They may have more specific troubleshooting steps to help you fix the issue.

Paper shredder doesn't move due to too much adhesive paper - how to fix it

Before trying anything I suggest, make sure your shredder isn't plugged in.
You will need to remove the adhesive from the rollers. You will need to use a glue solvent on the shredder rollers, something like Goo Be Gone. Personally, I still use Ronsonol Lighter Fluid In the image below I've outlined the supplies you'll need to, hopefully, clear your jam.

25346531-f3timxio4jyou4u0bydnlgfi-2-0.jpg Without disassembling your shredder, the best way to clear your jam is to use Rosonol Lighter Fluid (3), tweezers (4), and dental picks (5).
  1. Make sure you are working in a well ventilated area. Separate the shredder from its shredded paper collection tub.
  2. Turn the shredder head upside down so that the paper output is facing up.
  3. Pour Rosonol lighter fluid on both sides of the rollers near where they come together.
  4. Use dental picks and tweezers to dislodge stuck paper pieces
  5. Turn Shredder head over and repeat steps 3 and 4
  6. Move power switch to the "Off" position
  7. Plug power cable back in
  8. Move power switch to "Rev" (reverse) position, if still stuck move power switch to the "Fwd" position, repeat twice
  9. Repeat steps 1 - 8 until the rollers move freely
Once the rollers are moving smoothly you need to oil the rollers.

I jammed it with too much paper

Check the Power Ensure that the shredder top is firmly placed in the shredder basket if the unit will not operate. If the top is not in place the feeder will not work and accept any paper. Make sure it is firmly plugged into the wall outlet and that the outlet is active. Rest the Shredder Let the shredder cool down if the shredder has been running continuously for a long time. It may have overheated and needs to be left in the off position for at least 30 minutes to reset. Verify the basket is empty or not too full as that will cause the shredder to deactivate. Clear Paper Jam Rotate the shredder into "Auto" and reverse to loosen any paper jam that is stopping the gears. Pull out any papers that are sticking out from the shredder feeder. If there is no progress then unplug the shredder and remove the shredder top from the bin. Turn it upside down and use tweezers to free any paper that is blocking the gear. Auto Mode Not Working Select the "Auto" option and feed paper into the center of the feeder tray if the shredder is only working in reverse mode. The sensor is located in the middle of the feeder tray and could be blocked by jammed paper. Use an index card to firmly unblock any paper that could be blocking the sensor.

My paper shredder has stopped working. There is nothing jamming it - what should I do?

I had this same problem on one machine i repaired and when I took off ththe top cover it had a bad gear where it was split and it would run fine backwards, but not forward. the gear is available online. it was also
clogged with paper, which must have caused a lot of torque on the gear. they are plastic, so they will break instead of really messing something up. good luck

Runs in reverse and forward ,when insert paper blades won't let paper in

unplug it and then use compressed air (duster can used for pc's) spray this into unit and into teeth area. This should dislodge any unseen material.. (TIP - don't put any staples or clips in the shredder) even thou it says you can - this can cause a jam as well as not recognize paper. I recommend you get Shredder OIL to use 1 a month to keep your shedder in good condition

My shredder stopped working in the middle of a shred. I have cleaned all shredding from it, but it still refuses to run. Is there a thermo cut off switch, and if so, where?

  • Shut off the shredder. Unplug it and let in cool down for up to one hour. This will work if the shredder has stopped due to excessive use.

  • 2

Check to see if the shredder is jammed. This is the most common cause of shredder problems. Click the power switch to reverse, which should clear a minor jam. If not, set the shredder to auto, and then to reverse again until the jam clears.

  • 3

Clear extremely stubborn paper jams by grabbing the stuck paper and gently pulling it out. If smaller pieces of paper cause the jam, shut off the shredder and unplug it. When it cools down, carefully use a pair of tweezers to remove the paper bits.

  • 4

Determine if the power supply to the shredder is working properly. If the power supply is cold, use an alternative source of electricity for your shredder. If it is warm, there may be a problem with the shredder itself. Call your office machine repair shop or the shredder manufacturer for assistance.

Sharpen or oil the blades. Shredder blades need to be oiled on a regular basis to keep your machine in proper working order. Get oil made specifically for shredder blades from an office supply store.

    Infoguard shredder jam

When you set it to reverse, it Should propel the paper back out the top, where it's jammed. If it does not, remove power to the unit, and get ready for the long laborious process of removing the jam with a pair of tweezers. A hazard of paper shredders, maintenance can be a bit on the silly side.
