Question about Shredder 1052 (Cross-Cut)

Infoguard shredder jam

I think I overloaded my 10-page crosscut shredder by putting a bit too much in a couple weeks ago. TOday I emptied the bucket, which was full, but it still won't work. When I hit Reverse, there's power and it sounds like normal grinding. But when I try to insert a piece of paper on Normal, nothing happens - no sound. I can see that there's a bit of paper stuck in the front, though there's nothing I can pull through, just little bits. Is there a way to remove the stuck paper, eliminate the jam, or otherwise reset it? I'm under time pressure on this. thanks much

After paper jam, cleaned out the protruding paper.  Motor doesn't run, no reverse nor forward.

There is paper jammed in the shredder which will not pass through and causes additional pages added to the shredder to pull to the other side

When you set it to reverse, it Should propel the paper back out the top, where it's jammed. If it does not, remove power to the unit, and get ready for the long laborious process of removing the jam with a pair of tweezers. A hazard of paper shredders, maintenance can be a bit on the silly side.

No power will not turn on

Some shredders have an overload protector that cuts off power to the motor if it gets too hot. It may have failed.

The motor may have failed.

One of the switches that senses the presence of paper may have failed, or the switch that monitors bin fullness.

Or, the on-off switch could be bad.

Dahle 20396 thinks bag is full alarm

if you are using the auto oiler that alarm doubles as the low oil alarm. The low oil mark on the tank is not accurate. This frustrated me for weeks until I finally called Dahle and that's what they told me. JUST ADD OIL... I know its that easy!

Sh92100 shredder not power

Shredders will stop when overloaded and they have to be disassembled to get them moving again. There is way more paper inside the cutters than you can see. Remove all screws and carefully dig out all paper shreds. Manually turn gears and it should get get working again. Shredder life isn't long after this happens so you may want to look into a replacement.

Brand new and will not start,

Make sure the top of the shredder is sitting on the bottom part correctly. There is a safety switch underneath the top that needs to match up with the piece on the bottom bucket, otherwise it will not allow the machine to turn on.

This shredder was given to me couple years ago and this is the first time the overload light came on. Could you explain what it means? Thank you

Have you ever emptied the container that contains the shredded documents? If not, then do so.

Or, are you feeding too many pages in at one time, thus "over-loading" it?
When the rollers that pull the paper into the shredder-blades are detected as not spinning as fast as they should be spinning, you have a "jam".

Put the rollers into "reverse" and eject the unshredded pages.
Then put the rollers into "normal" mode, and feed 1/2 of the bundle of pages.

I have a Royal CX 66 Crosscut shredder and attempted to shred 10 pages. The unit shredded 1/2 of the papers and the other 1/2 are stuck in the shredder; the reverse mode will not release the papers. Is...

The Royal cx-6 shredder is a small consumer shredder rated for "up to 6 sheets at a time" so yes it will jam with anything more that 6.
If running it in reverse won't work you will have to try to open it up and see if you can manually turn things to get the paper back out...there is no other way if it wont run in reverse...hopefully when you have the paper removed the machine will still function.

Royal CIA12 crosscut shredder overload light came on.

Unplug immediately and wait 20 mins to see if motor will "cool-down"...when plugged back in hopefully the Overload light will be OFF....unless you have it completely jammed up in which case try running it in reverse if the overload light is OFF.
If the overload light wont go out you may need Royal at 1-800-524-0799 for further parts assistance.
