There is one more screw under the warrenty void if label removed label. Push your screw driver through the label and unscrew the screw. The top will lift off.

Thanks so much! Your information saved a quality shredder from the landfill.

That was all it took to get the jammed paper free from the gears.

How do you take apart a shredder it does not go forward

when my Aurora- AS662C shredder wouldn't go forward I assumed it had paper jammed into the blades -with it unplugged of course ,I removed 5 screws (back does not release) used tweezers to remove the jammed paper. When I initially pried it open- an off wt. plastic bar type thing fell out of it's place (on right side ) I set the plastic bar into it's place(if you look at you'll see how it set's into place, carefully closed the top making sure the bar didn't move and replaced the screws. I then ran papers through it -worked like new ! I almost bought another one and was about to throw it out ,figured I didn't have anything to loose . Best of luck -hope this helps

The shredder slows down if more then 2 sheets of paper are put in. The motor sounds like it is struggling and sometimes will overheat and stop. Model # AS662C

I think it has something to do with your gears not working properly, if under warranty you can contact Aurora on their web site and they will help you. If its a part you need customer service can help you at 1-800-327-8508 usa international only 1-310-793-5650

Works in reverse but motor stops running almost immediately when turn to shred. have used only about 1 dz times although have had a year. model as662c

I was having the same problem with my shredder. I called customer service; I was informed it was the gears on the inside of my shredder. My shredder is no longer under warranty. However, she is mailing me out the part I need for a small fee. Their customer service number is 1-800-327-8508 in the USA and international only 1-310-793-5650. I do hope this help you!

Jammed in Auto, but works fine in reverse. How to unjam?

Continue to alternate between auto and reverse a number of times. Try to shred narrower pieces of paper at opposite ends to see if it can trigger the auto trigger wire. All else fails, carefully take the shredding part apart and you may find a hugh paper jam underneath.

Shredder not working and red light on

Overpacking the shredder can cause the trigger on the arm that is attached to the wheels that help spin the shredder blades, if this is not in the right place your shredder will not work.

The scredder operates only in the reverse position. when i put paper in the schredder, the auto position does not work. what can i do to troubleshoot the problem?

The auto switch might have popped out of its cavity, this can be found on the inside it looks like a little black rectangular box, with a long narrow strip of metal attached to it. When placed properly your shredder will work in auto mode again.13b1f9e.jpg

My shredder is jamed.

Take the shredder off of its bin, turn upside down, make sure it is unplugged, and pull any pieces of shredded paper out of the shredder teeth, If the reverse mode did not unjam it then you might try opening it, by the inside of the shredder, and unjamming it that way, may I add that there is a sticker covering one of the screw holes that will say "if removed warranty is not good anymore".

I have a large amount of paper jamed in the shredder. Nothing will force it out. Can I take the shredder apart to get the paper out.

You would be better to use a can of WD40 to soak the paper to soften it then try a reverse drive

Stripping down the machine is an option however you are still faced with getting the paper residue out of the cutters

WD40 or any of the oil based sprays will give you a better chance of clearing the jam
