Aurora Electronics AURORA - Aurora paper shredder au-as501mx Questions & Answers
I have an Aurura model A S 860 C paper shredder.
I unplugged it, took out some paper, wiped it down since there was alot of white dust and used my son's air spray can and sprayed both top and bottom of the teeth and away it went again with no more issues so far. If this doesn't work, then I will also do Bernard's fix.

Aurora Shredder AS501X-MS ---- Won't start
BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN DOING THIS.
Leave the shredder plugged in and lift it from the bucket. Then, being VERY CAREFUL to keep your fingers safe, use a pencil to push in a small switch on the left side of the unit and try feeder a small piece of paper down the middle. If this works, next look into the bucket with the round front facing you. Down the left side there is a piece of plastic that extends out from the wall about 1/4 inch and down into the bucket. The switch on the unit lines up with that plastic extension and must be able to push in that side switch.
A couple of things could prevent the switch from being pushed in.
1) Make sure that the plastic extension in the bucket is not broken. It extends about 1/4 inch from the wall and starts about 1 1/4 inch from the top. If not, then the side switch is not engaging.
2) Make sure that the unit is placed in the bucket in the right direction. Front of unit should be on the same side as the rounded front of the bucket.
3) Make sure the unit is sitting fully in the top of the bucket and is not held up higher by improper placement.
4) If you use a plastic or paper bag in the bucket, make sure that the plastic 1/4 inch extension is still prominent. Make a small **** in the bag if you must.
If you are quiet as you place the unit in the bucket. you should be able to heard the side switch do a little click.
Hope this helps...

The shredder will not cut the paper. the motor
I just had this problem. I took the screws out from the bottom of the shredder and opened it up, take a look and see if there are any cracks around the frame that surrounds and holds the shredder in place, if so you have to glue the crack so the frame is stable again.(the crack/break in the frame prevents the paper from cutting because the teeth on the shredder are not fitted properly). hope this helps.
