WMA doesn't detect my Philips GoGear HDD6330 MP3 Player

I tried refreshing, restarting, reinstalling. Nothing works... I just bought it about 30 minutes ago... Help please.. When I plug in my GoGear Player, a little sign pops up and asks me if I want to sync player using WMA, so I do, and then it lags my computer for 3-4 minutes then it says i can't detect it.

I have an HDD6330 and instead of using WMP, because it has so many issues, I use Rhapsody free player. It works great, syncs immediately with no issues. It also has easy file transferability.

My philips mp3 turns on to the philips screen, but then turns right back off. nothing seems to work such as: restart button, usb, etc.

Hi Are you sure the gogear is fully charged, your problem is symptomatic of a failing or uncharged internal battery.

Philips GoGear 30 GB HDD6330 Won't Turn on.

Try a soft reset by pressing and holding [VOL+] & [POWER]
whenever this happens, then try powering up again.

If this doesn't work, it could be corrupt firmware. Run the Philips Device Manager software (on the product CD). Select the Restore / Repair option and follow the on-screen prompts.

This will format the player and re-flash the firmware.

Note: ALL tracks will be deleted from the player.

Philips GoGear HDD6330

If you are running windows xp, once you hook up your mp3 player windows media will atuomatically pick it up and you won't need a CD for software.

Philips HDD6330/17 suddenly not recognized by Vista

Check which version of Windows Media Player you have loaded.
Open Windows Media Player. Click "Help" and "about". This should show which version you have.
Windows Automatic Updates may hve updated to version 11.

The Philips HDD6330 is only compatible with version 10 under Windows XP.

If you have version 11, then uninstall and it should roll back to version 10.

HDD6330 file structure issue

First, reload the CD. Then grab a clean version of the software from the Philips website: Then,
Make sure you back up all songs on the GoGear before attempting this solution.

1) Back up all files on the GoGear
2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips)
3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new

Now you can do the firmware upgrade that will prevent this problem from occuring in the future. Open up Philips Device Manager and click the Update tab. This problem was caused because most GoGear's were designed for Windows XP with Media Player 10 (which is no longer the latest standard).
