Bosch Logixx 8 door seal rubbing why?

That will usually happen when the bearing is worn or the shaft has moved on the seal.

Miele W1926 burning smell

The front support seals -felt around the top of the door -are worn out. You can order them online with your model # or call the parts distributor and tell them you need the replacement kit - it comes with the top and side seals. To get them separate is more money. You will have to take apart the front of the unit - top first - then the control panel and then the door (front). It supports the drum. You will need to scrape off the old seals and apply the heat glue for the seals. Put the new seals on and reassemble the unit. This should do it if it was rubbing on the front plastic.

Washer maytag front loading 4000 series assembled and runs but iwith two problems.1) residue on inner surface of door window..lint like oily paste ..gasket rubbing on inner drum?? meaning main rubber

The fault seems to be that the main seal is rubbing against and is thus producing the oily residue on the window. Now the fault seems that the drum is rubbing due to POOR ALIGNMENT or poor BEARING settings.
You need to check the PLAY on the drum and if this shakes a bit then the assembly must be reset with correct aligment and the drum must move without rubbing the rubber seals.

LG wm2016cw smells when spinning fast. I opened the top but do not visually see any damage or smell it. When I open the door, I can smell something was rubbing. Took off the door gasket and it seems fine....

It sounds as though the drum may have dropped slightly and is rubbing against the seal. This normally occurs when either the top springs have stretched slightly (visually it's not noticeable) or the bearings are worn. Hopefully it's the former, as the springs are replaceable at little cost and can be done as a DIY project. The best way to see if it is the drum, is to close the door and look through the door window. The drum should appear central to the window. There will be online guides on how to change your particular model springs, as they are all slightly different. The only other possibility is that the drive belt at the rear of the machine is wearing out, or rubbing against something.

get some armor-all in a spray bottle. spray some on the bushings where the arms swing up and down, then spray some on the tops of the struts if there is a bellows where the spring can rub against the rubber.

Replace boot gasket

Hello, Remove the door hinges and plastic covers on the unused hinge screw holes on the opposite side of the door opening (door is reversible, so there are places to mount hinges left and right). Front panel will now snap out at top and lift off lower spring clips. One screw on each side will now release top panel and it will hinge up. Prop up with broom handle or something. Now you can get at everything. Rubber gasket is held onto drum with a cable loop and very strong spring. It rolls off the lip easily to disassemble but is VERY difficult to get back on without special tools or at least two people. Door side of rubber gasket is easy in comparison with rubber tabs inserted into slots and working the gasket into a groove. Hose clamp at bottom of rubber gasket to connect drain hose.

Thanks

Hotpoint ultime wt640 has a slight squeek seem to be on front around door area had top off and turned drum motor and drum seem fine and springs ok

Remove rear cover of washer, remove drum belt, and from front of washer, spin drum by hand.
There should be no noticeable noise.
If you can still hear sqeek, then it could be a drum bearing that is dry or starting to fail. or the drum is rubbing on the front of the door seal
You should be able to detect what it is this way.
Please rate my solution.
Thankyou.

Loose drum bouncing about I have checked the lower two suspension units and they seem fine - the pins (which has been a common/regular fault) are both perfectly seated in place I canot seem to find any...

Make sure the washer is completely level.
If you have checked the 2 top springs, and the lower dampers, and you are sure they are o/k, it is possible that the drum could be turning at the wrong speed, which will make it bounce about.
This being the case, then there is not a lot you can do about it yourself.
Hope this helps.

Change rubber gasket

Remove the door hinges and plastic covers on the unused hinge screw holes on the opposite side of the door opening (door is reversable, so there are places to mount hinges left and right). Front panel will now snap out at top and lift off lower spring clips. One screw on each side will now release top panel and it will hinge up. Prop up with broom handle or something. Now you can get at everthing. Rubber gasket is held onto drum with a cable loop and very strong spring. It rolls off the lip easily to disassemble but is VERY difficult to get back on without special tools or at least two people. We used strong vice grips and much struggling and sweat, and #@*&%!&@ and finally got it on without damage to the new gasket. Door side of rubber gasket is easy in comparison with rubber tabs inserted into slots and working the gasket into a groove. Hose clamp at bottom of rubber gasket to connect drain hose.
