For 2 years ago I bought a D7360 HP printer in Sweden, whic uses inkjet cartrides zone 363, and now that I moved to Brazil, I cannot use the local cartridges supplied here, because they are from zone 2. Is there any possibility I can set my printer to use zone 2 cartridges instead?

  • rodrigo_kond Apr 10, 2009

Hi, thanks for the answer, but it doesn't help me at all, first of all, because I bought a genuine original HP cartridge, the "only" problem is that now living in Brazil, I simply cannot buy HP cartridges from here.

If there is no other solution for this problem, unfortunately I must say I'm not satisfied with the service and I would like my money back.

    Kind regards,

Have you thought about going online and getting the printer cartridges from an Ecommerce store? There are plenty of them around.

Hi

Unfortunately there is no way to set your printer to use zone 2 cartridges or to change the zone as in Brazil which uses inkjet cartridges zone 02 compared to Sweden(which uses inkjet cartriges zone 363) .HP recommends that you use genuine HP ink cartridges. Genuine HP ink cartridges are designed and tested with HP printers to help you easily produce great results, time after time. Please check this manual for further information on ink cartridges:

    Hi

I understand your situation however this is the only solution to the problem and unfortunately there is no way to set your printer to use zone 2 catridges or to change the zone. If you want you can always contact HP and they will tell you the same thing.

    Thanks

Your HP printer can be made region free(so that you would be able to use zone 2 cartridges) by HP people only as the they will ask you for the cartridge serial number and will tell you how to make those cartridges compatible with the Printer. HP people will go 'calculate' and then will provide you with 5 four digit numbers which you'll need to enter in Control Panel -->Printers(They'll tell you the exact procedure and those serial keys tomake your printer zone free). You can chat with them online by clicking on the link---

    HP LIVE CHAT

I believe the only solution is to use HP Support and to also write an email complaining about how weird this process is. HP started this zone cartridge criteria after it was seeing loss in revenue as people were buying cartridges that are cheaper in parts of the world and shipping them and padding their profits.

Please do accept this solution and revert for further assistance.

    Thanks

I bought an HP C6180 all in one wireless printer 18 months ago while I was living in the US. It uses HP 02 cartridges which can not be sourced in the UK.There is a simalar 363 cartridge HP 363 but it is...

Oh yes HP can regionalize the printer for you. You need to call the UK HP and speak to their tech people. There is a specific reset that can be done and once it's complete you are able to use the 363 cartridges.

0844 369 0369 is there number and they do not charge for support for regionalization calls even if printer is out of warranty.

Using 02 series cartridges in 363 configured printer

Hi,
You are correct those printers & cartridges are designed to work only in their original countries of origin…
For example if you bought the printer in Europe, it uses the #363 cartridges.. If you were to have bought the printer in the US it would use the #02.

You can contact HP and over the phone they can help you turn your printer from a #363 into a #02…ou might need to have a “story” ready ;)

Once the conversion is done, from that moment onwards, your printer will only take #02 carts...

Only HP can make that change...

Cheers,
Ed

HP photosmart d7360 printer

NO NO NO it is usually a simple fix like wiping the ink off the rails , even a very tiny bit of sewing machine oil on a cloth and wiping back and forth.

Use HP 363 cartridges instead of 177 for my Photosmart C7183

Phone HP.  After about a month hanging on, on their premium rate number, you'll finally be put through to someone who doesn't understand the problem.  Then, after your beard has grown another inch or two, if you're lucky, you'll actually get someone who understands the problem.  Some birthday's later, you'll be connected to a technician who can talk you through a simple number of keystrokes to re-configure the printer.
Reckon this cost me 30 UK pounds - seriously -  I had to call five times  but eventually it was done.

HP bought in Europe, and North American cartridges not working

you would need the logic board replaced which would exceed what the printer is worth,

Can't use my original ink # 363

Actually you cannot use your # 363 ink on your photosmart c6180. The ink is not compatible with the printer. Photosmart c6180 only uses HP02 vivera inks. And there is no way that you can reconfigure it because it is factory default. Unless you bought an HP02 ink from other country outside US and bought the printer in US, that's the only time that we can reconfigure the regionalization of the printer
