I have an older printer will it work with my new pc
You have USB 2.0 ports on the PC and the printer supports connection via USB, you you are set there. Since your new computer's base configuration has 6GB of RAM, I am assuming that the 64-bit version of Vista was installed. The drivers for the printer are part of the standard Vista driver package, so all you should need to do is power on the printer and connect the USB cable between the devices. Vista should see the new device and automatically install the proper drivers for its operation (may take a minute or two to complete the process).
Yes. It should work fine, but there are a few IFs:
IF the printer is still good...you said it's an older printer. Also, does the printer have a USB port, or is it so old, it only has a parallel port? Some newer computers do not have serial or parallel ports.
IF you don't have a parallel port on the PC, and you have no USB port on the printer, you can purchase a parallel to USB adapter.
You also may have to go the manufacturer's web site to download the drivers for the printer.
IF there are no printer drivers for your newer Operating System, you are up the proverbial ******* creek. I have a hunch you are concerned about how to hook it up because of the above mentioned parallel - USB port issue. The adapter will fix that.
Good Luck!
