PT-AE700U Projector not working - orange light coming on

The projector power is on but where the light usually flashes red for standby and green when on, it is orange/yellow and no picture appears. I recently replaced the bulb and tried an additional bulb (the old one which wasn't done when I replaced it) and still nothing happens when I press the power button on the remote and on the actual machine. Any help would be most appreciated!

SOURCE: PT-AE700U No Power

Hi ErnieN008

If there is no LED's flashing or even lighting up for that matter , then it could just be the fuse on the Poersupplyboard that has gone.

You can replace this fuse by opening up the top cover and looking for the board with the AC inlet on it.

If the problem however still exists , you will have to replace the powersupply.

I have the same problem. It seems we have to reset the counter. This reset must be done via the beamer itself and not via remote control, since lamp is not working...

SOURCE: I've just replaced the lamp

I'd recommend checking the fans of the projector, and make sure that they're spinning. Since you've mentioned that the lamp blew inside the unit, bits and pieces of the lamp might have lodged itself within the fans. It might also have to do w/ the after-market replacement bulb, which I normally wouldn't recommend.

After changing the bulb image will not come on and solid orange light appears

Other then POWER BUTTON light there are three lights more
1. lamp indicator
2. temperature indicator
3. computer input
witch one light is flashing RED or illuminated RED with POWER BUTTON orange light.
If LAMP INDICATOR light is illuminated RED than lamp runtime has reached 1800 hours. but projector still working.
If LAMP INDICATOR light flashing RED than lamp circuit failure, or abnormal function or lamp unit is damaged. In this case projector doing the same behave just like your projector.
if TEMPERATURE indicator illuminating RED the projector still projecting and if flashing RED than turned of itself

PT-AE700E projector appears to have gone kaput - not lighting up.

Because of high voltages and heat, there are many safety circuits inside these units. If you have a spare lamp, try replacing the lamp. Initial checks are made before the lamp is fired and sometimes a defective lamp can cause this. Also, can you descruibe what you mean by "noisier than usual"? Is the fan making more noise? Something elase making a noise?

Thanks,
Dan

Panasonic PT-AE700U

may be a heat problem: check the psu unit for components getting too hot...use a laser thermometer and keep you fingers away from the psu ! other possible problem may be a bad capacitor or the thermal protection before the psu..but this would be a very uncommon problem.
