I need to zero the lamp hours on a panasonic PT-AE900E projector

Hi. Press menu and you'll see the menu on screen. Go to options, highlight the runtime hours figure, and press and hold the "enter" button. The hours figure will change to "Power Off" which is what you do next, good luck!

Hi, I have a Panasonic PT-Ae900e Lcd projector, the lamp has now expired, the unit just shut down. Reading the manual it requires a reset of lamp runtime hours,as it shutdown itself we missed the corridor...

Check for lamp if it's properly installed. You must have screen on yor tv in order to reset lamp time(make sense ?) or your lamp is ok but ballast is burnt?
Hope this will help You

I own a panasonic pt-ae900e i have notice a thin uneven green transpairant line in the middle of the screen lamp time 1987 hrs

Experience:
There is three LCD (liquid crystal display) in your projector when one LCD faulty he display a line some time flickering line one or two lines. Due to other two LCD is working well so this line is looking transparent. If BLUE LCD faulty than the line color is very light green or yellow.

Second option is this that your projector lamp life is near to end and after 2000 hours projector is very dirty inside and need service.
(service of LCDs and other parts of projector is a very technical job and I don't know you can do it or not)

Failure to get a trully blank or black screen

Have never worked on a panasonic projector before I admit, but you get that effect when the 3 LCD panels inside a Sharp (and I assume all brands) LCD are misalligned. To get total black (LCD Projectors find this rather difficult due to the technology) the red , blue and green lcd pixels must be precisely allignend ( they are adjustable by technician and it's a fiddly job) I reckon the green panel is a touch out and it's peeking out between the red and blue squares.

Nothing comes on except the green standby light on PT-AE900E.

I have the same problem. It seems we have to reset the counter. This reset must be done via the beamer itself and not via remote control, since lamp is not working...

Panasonic PT-AE900U Projector Lamp stops working (intermittent)

since it has worked 1200 hours or even more since u have been resetting the counter! just change the lamp, resetting the counter does not make the lamp work or not work , it is only a reminder for the user to change the bulb when it should be & that u have some balance hours left to procure a new lamp!
if the brightness is adequate, then it is a ballast problem & not lamp problem!
buy a new lamp as u will anyway need to , fit it & it may solve ur problems permanently!

PANASONIC LCD PROJECTOR MODEL # PT-AE900U

The manual says that it will do this as a reminder that it has ended the recommended lamp life (on mine PTAE900E this starts at 2700hrs and supposedly can blow from then until the max of 3000hrs)

sounds scary enough i guess but they put that 10minutes on/off thing in there to kinda force you to get it changed...

mine is at 2600 anyone know of a good place to get a new lamp in melbourne australia?

cheers dave
