Hi!, i just switched my desktop's old CRT out for a LCD. (samsung
171v). this lcd has been in use as a secondary monitor for a different
computer for a while, so i know its working.
with the new LCD i
get absolutely zilch. black screen. not even bootup, no image, and the
LCD also gives no error messages. just sits there black, little green
power light blinking away. using VGA, not DVI, also used VGA beforehand
with the LCD. i (stupidly) gave my old monitor away, and i dont have
another, so i have nothing to test with, but i'm assuming all parts of
the computer are still working (boots fine, posts fine, etc, just can't
see anything). graphics card is a geforce 7600GS

Nice big screen but CRTs are getting old So, if you can't set correct colors with your Hyundai it might have some serious issue with tube. Probably replacement might cost you more then a new new 27" Flat Panel. See some tutorial and info about bad color of CRT

Hi...there,
Well, it is time to upgrade to a LCD flat screen monitor... The one you got it's busted.... You get buy one 19" LCD monitor less than $200...
Thank you for providing your configuration details.
You have failed to specify wheather or not your LCD Display is under Warrenty.
Perhaps these simple trouble shooting procedures will get the job done.
1. use the DVI to VGA adaptor that came with your card
Plug in a regular CRT monitor to the Primary Display Output Port using the DVI to VGA adaptor
( either port can be designated as the primary by you )
I like to use the Port nearest to the motherboard as the Primary
2. plug in the your LCD monitor on Secondary Display port using your DVI cable
At this point you should be able to see your desktop on the Primary CRT Display
3. Go to the display properties and use the Nvidia Dual Display Setup Wizard
set both desktops to CLONED at a resolution of 1024x768 and set the refresh to 60Hz
which is default for most LCD displays , some have higher refresh rates , consult your user manuel
If the display resolution and refresh are set incorrectly for your CRT or LCD you will see
Signal Out of Range ( if the display has the ability to display that error message )
At this stage both displays should be showing a Windows Desktop
If you now see your desktop on both displays , you can now put the LCD on the Primary Port
No Signal Detected ( this means the display device is not receiving a signal )
If your LCD display is still displaying the error message
"No Signal Detected" after performing the trouble shooting proceedures
You may need to read the user manuel about how to enable DVI signal input.
If you are certan you have done everything correctly but still see only "No Signal Detected"
IT could be one of two things. First make sure that you have the laptop set to display on the LCD. Most laptops will have a Function key labeled by Fn then you will need to look at the function keys at the top F1-F12 and find the one that either says CRT/LCD or has a picture of a screen or monitor. Then, after you have found that key, you will need to press and hold the Fn key and tap the appropriate function key, this will alternate between the LCD (laptop) and CRT (monitor). If you have trouble finding the correct key combination for switching displays should be listed in the manual.
If that doesn't correct it, then I would try locating a desktop CRT and connecting it to the monitor connection on the rear of the laptop and again pressing the keys to switch between CRT/LCD. If it shows on the CRT then I would say that the LCD on the laptop is bad.
no, the LCD display don't harm the eyes cause don't spreed radiation. preferred resolution 1280x1024 at refresh rate of 60Hz is not optimal. the samsung 710N can easy handle 75Hz at 1280x1024 so just change it.
i have up to date drivers, and i can't go install any drivers when i can't see anything on the screen....
