We just can't figure it out. We need instruction how to do this!
The 60gb and the 80gb PS3s can play PS2 games just not all of them the 60gb can play about 80% of the PS2 games and the 80gb will play about 65% of the games...the 40gb PS3 can't play any PS2 games...If you have a 60gb or 80gb try to go to the PSN store go to add-ons then to disc based add-ons and look for an add-on called PS2 System Data, download it's (It's free) and see if it works if it does than your good if it doesn't you can call Sony and ask for help.
Playing a PS2 game on a PS3 depends on what model your PS3 is. The 40 GB does not play PS2 games, the 60 GB definatly does ,and i dont think the 80GB does

Try formating you system, a quick format and it should correct the none loading/playing error. It worked for me but at the cost of my saved data but hey, you can always get it back right? ^_^
I found that after playing PS2 games it caused the error so my only advice is not to play PS2 games which UNFORTUNETLY defeats the object of a 60gb if you got one like I do. [sigh]

You're blu-ray drive has partially died. It's a three part laser (cd, dvd, blu-ray). The most important part of yours has died that's why you can still play dvd and PS2 games because they use the dvd laser and not the blu-ray.

The first thing I would do is a System Update!!!!!! This happened to me playing Army of Two until I Updated it. With games and Some Blu-Rays (Iron Man I had the same problem) require updates to play and function properly! Just hook up to your Network (Router or Modem) Create a Playstaion store account (To the Right on the PS3 Crossbar) Then go to the 2nd to left on the Crossbar, Then all the way up. Grab the update and you should be Good! This happened Twice to me, So now I always update and No probs! Good Luck!

hold the power button down when it is red till you hear the quick beeps then select the file restore this is a diagnostics menu..remember you have to hold the power button down till you see a menu that youve probably never seen
