Lite On LVW 1107 HC1 DVD Recorder

For example, I burned two shows one week and then when I burned the third show nothing was there. When I go to finalize it just says change disk. It will work sometimes and sometimes it won't. This doesn't point in the direction of it being bad DVD disks... anyone having the same problem?

Mine does the same thing. I can not view any of the shows I record, I can only view once in a blue moon. The manual says i don't have to finalize but i can't play back mostly everything I record and it's driving me crazy. It's not the discs either. Does anyone know what to do?

thanks for the help. After I hit stop what do i do if I do not wanna watch the show right away? Also, any particular brand of discs that you prefer in the RW?

Concerning a Liteon LVW-1107.
I have had this same problem many times up until I decided that my machine tends to prefer +R or +RW disks. I have had no problems with +R or +RW disks.

( If I record something on a +RW disk and decide I want to copy it to -Rs I will copy the files to the hard drive and then reburn to
-Rs using Nero.)

Once you have had the disk in the machine and it will not play for whatever reason you might just as well throw it away and get a new disk and start over.

You may need to pull the power cord and let the machine reset on occasion also.

Realize I am telling you what works for me.
It may or may not work for you.
I hope it does.

How do I find the vcr plus coned to enter into my recorder?

Go to the TV Guide web site:

http://www.tvguide.com

You have to choose your location by zip code and if you have cable, satellite, etc. Then you can choose the day of the week and the time and find your show. When you move the mouse over the show a window will pop up a synopsis, click in the middle of the pop up and it will open another page with info about the show. Scroll down a little and on the left hand side it shows VCR+ and Tivo info. I have not used this feature because I don't know if it will let you set something to record say on a weekly basis. I use my unit to record some TV series which play weekly at the same bat time and same bat channel! Plus this unit has 16 timer record slots, twice as many as any VCR and the programing is much more flexible, Good Luck.

Lite-On 1105 will not finalize when recording from timer

Hi Guys,

I have a liteon DVD recorder (1105) and I had the same problems......Exactly like yours.

So I opened the recorder and guess what??????? The light ray that burns the DVD was not moving.....I cleaned that thing that holds the light ray, so that it can move while burning and finalising.
The recorder is out of warranty any, so open it up clean it out.

Ensure you finalize the disk you wish to play on the DVD machine. But please be aware the DVD machines generally can be very iffy about burned disks
