We inherited a Samsung LTN325W LCD TV, with only one problem. When you turn it on, it emits a constant static-y sound that only dissipates after an hour. We plugged headphones into the unit, and the static was NOT heard over the headphones. Question - is this an expensive fix? And what exactly would cause this? It's reminiscent of the 'snow' sound you would hear on older tvs. Thanks a bunch!

I finally got mine fixed. All the 3253h have this problem. It took two service trips because Samsung messed up the service bulletin. I had a court date and everything for my local CC, but I finally got the issue resolved. There is a choke around a coil on the power supply board, when the tv is warm that is what is making the noise. The coil/choke was replaced with a new version and the sound is gone. Strange but this is not a component level fix. A new component gives you the same problem. Either way I'm happy now

The main board may cause this problem. If it wass happened when you play DVD, so the main board needs replacing.

use the menu setup and tell it how u want it to be configured and make sure tv speakers are on if u are using the tv, if not use the computer settings on the menu, u probaly already have found this out, by looking fully at the onscreen menu.
