Samsung tv I purchased a lcd tv and it will turn on and  then go off..... when you try to change chanels it go off..... when you turn it back on it will go off..... Any help would be a godsend at this point, before i throw it out in the yard. . I have a 42 inch LCD Samsung HDtv. my television will turn on then turn off all of a sudden. Sometimes the tv will stay on for a while or will turn off right away. WTF is going on. Is my tv possessed or something? Following my daughters constant programming my Samsung has locked on the CBBC channel. Will not revert to factory default menu when disconnected. Will not allow me in to the system menu to reset. DVD and video channels ok. Analogue channels ok. What can I do?

I have a 42 inch lcd samsung hdtv, my tv has 3 lights flashing at the bottom. 2 green and one red light. the tv pops off when i turn it on with the lights constantly flashing.normally when i turn the tv on a green flash twice then stop. at this time i'm getting sound but no picture and then it pops off with the lights still flashing!!!!!!!! PLEASE HELP.

As far as it turning off on its own I would get a fan on it and see if that make a difference make sure that the fan is able to flow around the tv especially through the back of it, if this stops it from turning off then it is an overheating problem

Why won't my samsung smart tv emote wont change chanel
It needs to be Re-Paired to the TV.

First, fresh batteries, and clean battery contacts if needed.

Then, Try Pairing procedure:

  1. TV off
  2. Bring remote within 3 feet of TV
  3. Push Pairing button (Paper Clip or other pointed object in button hole)
  4. Turn on TV
  5. Should be paired. Try remote channel or other buttons.
  6. If not, try 2 more times.
  7. If still not working, push RESET button first and repeat Pairing.

Samsung remotes for LED / LCD TVs are generally RF, not IR.
Most Universal remotes do not generate RF signals, so disregard advice about codes for Universals.

The first thing I would do as its from a HOTEL is take the LG telly out of HOTEL MODE. follow the steps below, This should allow you to change the settings on the telly and store them. So when you turn the tv back on it will not revert back to the hotel Options

TV turned on. Hold down the MENU button on the remote for approx 5 seconds then type in 1105 this will take you to the LG hidden Menu.

in this menu there will be hotel mode turn this option off.

This will allow you to save your own setting without it jumping back.

Because you have DirecTV there is no need to use auto tuning. You simply changed inputs on the TV when you started auto tuning. Just use the input button on the remote to go back to the Direct TV receiver. Most likely it will be under Component (Color Stream) or HDMI input.
