This is an old school turntable so it requires a Phono Pre4amp either separately or built into your 'Main Unit". It will be labeled explicitly "PHONO".
the prestige gold might be a little bit of overkill for this turntable meaning the turntable is middle of the road and the cartridge is hi-end.
To get a closer match for your TT try a yahoo search for "AT3482P-DE" (with the quotes) and the result will be the closest match to what this turntable is designed for. also you can find your TT's owner manual here http://www.vinylengine.com/library/technics/sl-bd22d.shtml but you will have to register to download the free manual. in that manual you will find the shape of the drawings for the cartridge is the same. both made by audio technica
I'm having a similar issue - except my panasonic sl-hm42 platter is moving too slow on 33 1/3 settings (don't have any 45's to try). It's a DC model, so I would think there would be some kind of pitch control settings or screws somewhere on it but I can't seem to find them. Does anyone know if it's possible to adjust the pitch on this model turntable? Thank you!
