Left channels not working

I recently bought a used Yamaha RX-V395 with the knowledge that the power cut-off as temperamental when the volume was turned past a certain point. However this is not the case, the power is perfectly fine, however the Main Left Channels do not work for Speaker A and B outputs. Both Right channels work great. On Speaker A, there is very low volume output combined with some white noise. On Speaker B, there is absolutely no sound. Could you please assist me with the root of the issue and what the possibility/intensity of the repair. Thanks in advance

Check out the left channel amp stages - your issue is there.

SOURCE: Yamaha RX-V2700 no sound from any speaker outputs

Make sure that you have the correct input signal selected.
Also, check if the sound is not muted.
If you have a multi-room speaker switch, make sure it is set correctly to main speakers.

SOURCE: Yamaha RX-V596 main rigth channel problem

The right or left (side) output channel has blown out. If it uses discrete transistors you'll have to replace two of them (one PNP and one NPN) along with several resistors that are part of the circuit (I'm guessing the static occurs on any input source).
Now , if the static happens only on certain input, then the problem should not be in your amp.

SOURCE: Speaker output

Yes, there are relay type switches associated with those outputs. Your RX-V1 is not dying.
Just plug a pin plug in and out of the dead channel to bump the switch. You will hear the speaker
come on. If it doesn't come on,do the plug jack in an out of the pre out again. It will come on.
You can use the test tone to check all channels and rebalance volume levels. You are making the
pre out connect to its power amp. It seems the problem got better when activating those switches. Most likely a cleaning issue. You can also jump the mains and center, and there is also
a modification to jump all channels. I bought my RX-V1 very cheap because of this and love it.
Of course outboard power amp would solve all, but getting this reciever to connect to it's own
power amp has been thrilling as far as bang for the buck. I do use the front effects also, and like
them. It may seem like a pain, but it is worth it to get those channels going.

Yamaha rx 530 center channel cuts out

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

I've tried using the balance for left and right speakers, and when the receiver is acting up with the right speaker having a low volume, I tried moving the balance all the way over to the right speaker. The right speaker volume will not increase in volume but the left speaker will decrease in volume.

Just to clarify, the center and the rear speakers are balanced. The issue only happens sometimes when I first power on the receiver I will have no center channel. If I leave everything alone for a few mins, the center channel will come on.

So it seems to me that something one the receiver is going. The question is, can anyone suggest a physical repair for the receiver for these symptoms?

Thanks

I have a RX-V1000 Yamaha Receiver. I recently added on speakers for my back yard, but would like to run them independent of the receiver. Meaning I don't want to have to have speakers in the house on...

Any Tape Out (REC) is flat Line Level output for any analog source selected by the RX-V1000.

Or you could just set up Zone 2 as on Page 61 in the manual - with or without the remote capability.

Connecting laptop computer to rx-v395 yamaha amplfier

Hi, yes it is possibe, but you are going to have to buy a stereo 2.5mm jack to 2 phono lead. Connect to headphone socket on laptop and the other to a line input on amplifier and adjust setting to suit.

I hope this helps, if you need more info, I will help.

My Yamaha RX-V661 shuts off at moderate volumes.

Try to disconnect speakers one by one and see if any of them causes the problem.

Left channel a bit fuzzy and lower volume than right channel

If the unit has other inputs, try running other source into those to determineif in the receiver or the power amp section.

Then use heating and cooling with cool mist to check components on the boards.

It is LIKELY a bad electrolytic capacitor

Sound cut out.

If it will turn back on then it is not a simple blown fuse. If you heard it 'POP' then I would take an educated guess and say that the integrated output amplifier module has blown. You could try disconnecting from the power and taking off the lid and checking to see if there is any physical signs of damage, but, unfortunately there usually isn't. Without electronic knowledge it will be difficult to pinpoint and trial and error replacing parts can quickly become economically unviable. Sorry and Good luck.
