Red light comes on but amp still tries to kick.

My amp was working fine then i smelled something burning in side my truck, then the subs stopped kickin. the amp still draws power from my capacitors but then a popping noise happens and the red light comes on. after a lil bit the light goes away and when it feels as though the amp is gonna hit again the red light shows up again. it keeps on repeating.

Try removing the caps out of the system. It sounds like they have gone out. What is happening is the caps start storing up the power like they are supposed to do but then they are being discharged as soon as they are full. Bypass the caps and that should correct your problem.

Could a ground stop your woofer from working?

First check the speaker wire from the amp to the sub, see if it's connected right. Second check the rca cables that goes from your amp to the back of the deck. I f both wires are still connected fine try to replace the rca cables. If it still doesn't work the rear out put at the back of your deck, where the rca's are connected are bad. FYI deck is bad.

Kenwood KAC 7502 Amp trouble

Exchange the amp it is going into Protect. But your sub may be causing this problem if it is shorted. Make sure your subs are wired to at least a 4 ohms. Only a shop can tell you for certain if your sub is shorted or not. But if you are smelling smoke then that amp is already toast.

Subs stopped working & protect light on the amp is red...

well at this point i would say it is both,, the subs fried because your amplifier passed dc [direct current] and fried the voice coils on your subs....return them if they are under warranty,, the amplifier sound like you either operated it beyound its specifications or it has a defective output stage allowing it to pass or leak dc....it turned the voice coils into the equivelent of the runners in a toaster oven....when an amp passes dc it is going to do so to whatever speakers you hook to it....so either bring it to a shop to be fixed/ return it to place purchase for exchange or throw it away.....or you will continue to experience the same problems....I am sorry..ps the amp goes into protection when it detects a short...[ the short is produced by the amp and it is detecting its own fault and putting it in to protection after it BURNS up your drivers....
