Hi!

You can alter your settings by typing 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 into your browser window and it will open the settings of your modem and from there you can configure your modem.

Please tell me the model number of your HP Modem so that i can help you more efficently.

Please ask for any clarifications.

Thanks
Rylee

I bought a black ink for my hp photosmart c5 180 and the when i turn on the printer it says the ink has expired. Can i still use it or will i damage my printer. Thanks regards Anita

Hello
according to HP
Each ink cartridge has an expiration date. The purpose of expiration is to protect the printing system and to ensure ink quality. When you receive an ink cartridge(s) are expired message, remove and replace the expired ink cartridge, and then close the message. You can also continue printing without replacing the ink cartridge, by following the instructions on the HP All-in-One or the ink cartridge expiration message on your computer screen. HP recommends replacing the expired ink cartridges. HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of expired ink cartridges. Device service or repairs required as a result of using expired ink will not be covered under warranty.

Are you trying to set up the router.
You can do it manually without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem.
If your computer is not able to go online through the modem then you will need to call ISP first.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem
then you need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

The ZTE modem when initially connected to any system loads as a storage device which contains the software necessary to install the modem. Connect the ZTE and open it in Explorer. Double click the setup file (.exe) to start installation. Follow instructions and allow installation to complete. The modem is automatically installed during this setup. Once completed restart and then your ZTE functions as a modem.

I have a dial tone, but will not dial .I have a HP Pavilion computer and use a dial up service. I delt with HP on this 4 months ago and they sent me a new modem, and curred the problem. Now the problem has...

If it is a USB modem, connect it to a different computer, and try it.
If it fails to connect, with _two_ different computers, then the problem is in the modem, not in your HP computer. Give that information to HP.

Or, switch to high-speed "lite" (as in "lite beer"), for about the same amount per month as for dial-up, and throw the modem away.

HP USB Modem does not break dial tone

If the information connected to your post is all correct (56k V90 usb), and you are using one line for both the internet and the fax, you should hang up from the internet before you try to dial out the fax.

You have not indicated your PC model, so I don't know what operating system you are using. For XP and newer versions, you have to set up and configure the fax using the wizard or configuration software. If you have not done that yet, you need to.

In xp, go to start, Programs , Accessories , Communication , Fax , and then click Fax Console.

You said your computer is new. Win 7 and Vista are much the same:

1.Click the Start button , click All Programs, and then click Windows Fax and Scan.

2.At the bottom of the left pane, click Fax, and then click New Fax on the toolbar to launch the Fax Setup wizard.

3.Click Connect to a fax modem and follow the instructions.

You also need to make sure that your fax/modem is correctly listed in the control panel. In XP, start, control panel, printers and devices. If you do not have a fax printer listed, you need to "install a local fax printer."

The installation wizard should work in both OS without much trouble. If you do have difficulty, Microsoft and adobe both have "virtual printers" you can use. Look in Microsoft office or online.

Also check control panel of 7 to make sure that your modem and fax are listed correctly. Thanks for using Fixya.

Acer aspire 9410, cannot connect to the internet using dial-up

You have two different devices here. A modem and a wireless network adapter. Two totally different devices. It sounds like the modem quit working but the wireless network adapter still functions. I'm assuming that the modem is built it. If you absolutely have to have it you could buy a PCMCIA modem if your laptop has a PCMCIA slot to plug it into. You could also have a corrupted modem driver.

Cant dial up

Windows XP normally picks up the modem and installs its drivers it knows what brand the modem is and has a vast selection in store. You said you checked the hardware and there was no info I imagine that was in the systems folder where the device manager is?. Did you query the modem in the diagnostic and still had no info.....are you sure the modem is in the computer it may have been removed???
