The ZTE modem when initially connected to any system loads as a storage device which contains the software necessary to install the modem. Connect the ZTE and open it in Explorer. Double click the setup file (.exe) to start installation. Follow instructions and allow installation to complete. The modem is automatically installed during this setup. Once completed restart and then your ZTE functions as a modem.

This document pertains to HP and Compaq desktop PCs running Windows XP (Home, Professional, Media Center editions) and have the factory installed dial-up modem.
The following error may occur when connecting to the Internet using a dial-up modem:
Error 633: The modem (or other connecting device) is already in use or not configured properly.
This error may occur if the communication (COM) port used by the modem has been reserved by another software program, or if multiple Internet connections have been set up. Use the instructions in the following solutions to help resolve the error.
Solution 1: Uninstall and reinstall the modem drivers
Solution 2: Release the COM port
Device Manager .
If the error is not resolved, continue to Solution 2 .
A window is displayed. The communication may take several seconds.
