Maytag microwave cook delay - first minute on timer no heating, then works fine

Not a feature I've heard of.

I would do a hard reset by unplugging the oven for a minute or two, setting the clock, then trying again.

If it still does this, I would contact Maytag customer service at the number in the owner's manual.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

I suggest you revisit the instruction manual and ensure the new microwave is not performing as per instructions.

If that is so you should contact the supplier without delay.
