O boy this is a really really old model CRT
if it has no picture is most likely has a failed picture tube. its too old to fix

a new 36 inch will cost you $150

there is no tube,it has different components and to fix them is going to cost you more than a flat screen tv

What is the model number to your TV? Brand name? Size of the picture tube? 14"; 19"; 20"; 21" etc. Type of the picture tube; full flat; cylindrical; semi-flat? CRT neck type? Broad or narrow?
Provide these details please. Without these, how can one post a solution to your problem?

The tubes in the projection set among other things need: 200 volt screen source, filament voltage and high voltage.

Note that if set for example has a loss of vertical or horizontal sweep this will be detected and the tubes will be shut off to prevent the tubes from getting a burn mark on their screens.

The model indicated has 3 picture tubes (right model?) and will blank or turn the tubes off for several reasons--almost all are protection.

In this kind of set if vertical loss of sweep (in old sets you would see just a white line left to right) it will not permit the tubes to be on as it would burn a line instantly in all three tubes screens.

If this model not likely to be a do it yourself repair.

You can also use picture tube part number 23008517 which is in model 57H81. Please note that these tubes are no longer available frmo Toshiba.

I presume that the set is second hand?? They`ve got to fit the correct tube for safety reasons and the set is designed to work with that tube only for that size of set, HOWEVER, they may fit a regunned/refurbished or even a second hand tube in the set. Ian

If you go to this link they have any Picture tube you need for your model and they include instructions on how to remove the old Tube and install the new one. Your model has picture tubes instead of lamps. Leave them an email with your model number and which CRT (picture Tube) youre needing they respond quickly. Heres the link.

What makes you think the picture tube is bad? What exactly are the symptoms you see? The RCA 20 inch picture tube is a good quality long lasting tube and I doubt I have ever seen a bad one.
